is it just me or does anyone ever get to a point in a book (even one they are enjoying) and feel like they just can't read more of it right now? and then put it off for forever?

Ah, yes. I went through something similar while reading Gone Girl. It started off well, I was getting into it, and then, out of nowhere, I felt the need to shut the book. Well, I haven't opened it since. I'm dreading to read that book.
So I'm not alone. It's happened to me and the hobbit. I actually liked it but I don't know what happened. I just can't read any more :/
it happens to me all the time. i have numerous number of books half finished. but i usually read them all when iam extremely bored or my half read books pile is becoming impossible to ignore :D
I think that settles it. I'm leaving The hobbit alone for a while until I feel a dire need to finsh it :p
I never leave a book unfinished.. There is just one book which I have left well alone half finished, War and Peace... I started getting confused in the Annas :P:(@Sairah if a book doesnt remain interesting or joyful, you should leave it immediately as the whole reason of reading is to have a good time :)

It happens but I manage to finish. Except this stupid romance novel I once read where I read the first chapter, then skipped to the last page where they kissed. Woohoo!
In case of books , i didn't happened to me. of all the books i read so far, The Wasted Vigil bored me the most, but some how it i finished it...
@Owaiz, by the way very interesting strategy... :P
