message 32: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra | 71 comments This is really hard but if I had to narrow it down to only 5 I'd say

1. LOTR (nothing even comes close to those!)
2. Avatar
3. Titanic
4. Moulon Rouge
5. Love Actually

But I also have to second Pearl Harbor, Dirty Dancing and Ever After (love Drew Barrymore!). Love her also in Never Been Kissed - so funny! And everything by Baz Luhrmann (Strictly Ballroom, Romeo and Juliet, Australia - already named Moulin Rouge). Black Hawk Down, the Matrix trilogy, the Bourne films, and a classic Gone With The Wind. Could go on but will stop now. :)

You can't! I love movies almost as much as I love books! I forget everything around me when I watch a great movie.
Speaking of ... totally forgot Inception - such a clever plot and the ending was genius! :)

Let me know what you think of Inception when you've seen it. The story is a bit complex but it has great imagery. The ending is a killer - when I watched it in the movie theater and the screen went black after the last scene there was actually an outcry from the audience - then everyone started laughing. LOL

message 38: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen | 81 comments This is tough because I have too many! Off the top of my head and looking through this thread though...

1. LOTR
2. Les Miserables
3. Life is Beautiful
4. Sound of Music
5. Titanic

Actually looking back at this list I am quite happy with the spread that is represented here. And believe me a hat draw is necessary I love movies ALMOST as much as my books and as such own a ridiculous amount.

message 44: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1500 comments Lol I own a lot too! Probably about 500. 10 Things I Hate About You was one of the first DVDs we bought about 13 years ago.

message 45: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (pandwen) | 141 comments actually i think it was the first DVD i bought with my own money too :D lol still one of my staples feel like crap? reach for 10 things (watch it at least 2-3 times a year and used it for my yr 12 exams yet still love it... just so damn quotable)... or other movies that may or may not of made the list
