Begged, bought, borrowed or stolen - what's the last 5 books you've acquired?
Hmm, this is tough. I can tell you that yesterday I bought "The Kid" by Sapphire, last Tuesday I bought "The Nightmare" by Lars Kepler. I can't remember what I bought or received before that. Maybe it was Jennifer McMahon's "The Island of Lost Girls" and Rosamund Lupton's "Sister".Oh, oh! I forgot that I received that ARC in the mail from this group. "Crime of Privilege". I guess that was probably last Monday night that I got it.

These Things Hidden - Heather Gudenkauf
A Wanted Man - Lee Child

What is wrong with me? It isn't as though I don't have enough to read. Still, today I bought more books! Am I crazy? Compulsive? Delusional (in the belief that I will have lots of time to read them)? I am bewildered by my own behaviour and yet I feel gleeful at being able to pile more books on the already teetering piles around my house. Here's what I picked up:1. The Bat - Jo Nesbo
2. Major Pettigrew's Last Stand- Helen Simonson
3. The Sixth Man - David Baldacci
4. Buried Secrets- Joseph Finder
5. Astounding Visual Illusions. by Gianni A. Sarcone, Marie-Jo Waeber
Whew! I am staying away from the book stores and library for a while, in spite of any magnetic pulls.

Bill, "The Snowman" is really good! I enjoyed "The Keeper of Lost Causes" as well, but it wasn't as good as Jo Nesbo's.

It's good to know I'm not alone in my relentless pursuit of acquiring every book published that seems to catch my eye. I'm like a kid in a sweet shop - maybe I shouldn't keep coming onto Goodreads, because every time I visit, I leave with more on my wishlist.

Harry Hole is very interesting. Thanks for the recommendation re The Snowman
Yes, this is the story that is the basis for the movie Argo. The book came out right before the film.
I agree and IT always find myself seeing the parts in the movie rather than having a picture based on the words of the book.
Ok so I don't usually get just 5 books at a time....yes, I know I have a problem. I read them through the library and then buy them if I really enjoy them. So the top 5 (in no particular order) out of the last batch I bought: 1. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
2.The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
3.The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson (I HAD to really...he's a family friend...luckily I do really enjoy his writing)

Oh, Shirley, I just bought the audio The End of the Affair read by Colin Firth, and it is wonderful! Such a rich voice! You know, I am easing into this audio thing, but I am liking it so far. I started out listening and reading along with the printed text, but now I am just listening some of the time.I also shopped around and found the neatest little device to wear to the gym and outside when I am gardening, so I can listen to my books. It is the iPod Shuffle and only costs $50. It is perfect for audiobooks because I can store the ones I am not listening to on my computer or on the cloud. Neat!

I'm doing my best to read what I already have too. At the rate I'm reading these days I have about 10 years worth that I own and not read and that's being ambitious with my reading targets :)
I was pretty good when we went out for lunch today, but I did buy one book at my local used book shop;
