Mint walked in the stables with hector.
Hektor led Mint to a large stall where a big black mare stood with her 3 day old, roan foal. We've just come to look , he thought to the mare.
"This is the baby," he said smiling broadly. "What do you think of her?"

Marcus stormed into the stables. He had a horrible headache and hadn't gotten enough sleep the night before. Each sound in the palace had felt like a small hammer slamming into the side of his head. Finally, he had had enough and decided to come here, hoping the calmness would ease his foul mood.
Hektor heard faint footsteps coming down the aisle. Looking up to see who they belonged to he saw his brother. His twin was probably the only member of his family that did not completely annoy him."Marcus," Hektor said, smiling slightly. "What brings you to my realm?"
Marcus, who had known Hektor would be there, nodded in greeting and said, "The worst headache I've ever had." Even here, where it was much quieter than the palace, the throbbing of his head was making it hard to think.
May we sit with you? he asked the big black mare. Her soft whinny told him yes."Come sit with me," Hektor said motioning at the clean bedding bedside him. "Perhaps the the incessant munching of hay will help."
Looking back at Mint, Hektor opened his mouth about to invite her to stay but realized what that may look like if any of their siblings came in.
"Ah Mint..." he began. "Would you mind getting something for his head?"
((Sorry Birdlover...didn't feel right to just ignore the fact she'd been there...please come back in whenever you're back on.))
"The munching of hay sounds much more bearable than the constant chatter that fills the palace," Marcus said quietly. He walked over and sat quite ungracefully. The headache was even messing with his balance.
Stretching out his legs nonchalantly Hektor cocked his head and smiled at the little foal and her wobbly legs. She's going to make a fine horse someday, he told the mare."So was there a particular cause of your headache?" he asked quietly, trying not to disturb his brother's anymore then he was already.
Marcus shrugged. "Probably a combination of exhaustion and the three visions I had just over an hour ago," he said with a sigh. Normally, he'd have two or three over the course of a day, not an hour.
Hektor raised his eyebrows. "Three, wow. And I think I have problems." he chuckled. "What were they? Anything good?"
"I don't know about the first two. Normally I have enough time to sort out the details. If I don't, the vision just sort of fades away," he explained. From the first vision, all he could remember was the smell of cinnamon. From the second, the sound of a door shutting.Marcus never understood how the visions worked. It was as if the current moment faded away and was replaced by another where he had no control. Sometimes, he was in his body, other times he was seeing things through another's eyes. Other times he seemed to be floating freely through the air. The visions normally lasted between one and five minutes, though others lasted longer.
"Well, that's a shame." Hektor mumbled, then added. "Hopefully we'll have cinnamon rolls tomorrow morning. I would greatly enjoy that." He rolled his head back and sighed listening to the swishing of the horses' tails and soft crunching of the hay.
Analisa ran in not expecting anyone to be in the stables, she still wore her Queen of Thieves store. Her eyes widened when he saw her brothers, she dashed into the shadows praying they hasn't seen her.
Marcus nodded, but said nothing as he pinched the bridge of his nose, relieving the pressure in his head for a few seconds. His mind drifted to the third vision, or the parts that he could remember. It had been a longer one, thirteen minutes. He had been floating free, with nobody's emotions to alter his perception of the sight that had been before him. It was in a clearing in a forest he had never seen before. Two men were engaged in a sword fight. One was bleeding heavily and the other was laughing...
And that was all he remembered. It was more than he could normally recall, but his limits infuriated him. Why couldn't he just remember the whole thing? Or choose what he saw and when he saw it?
The mare's ears flicked up and a sudden fear shot through the air the Hektor picked up. What is it? he asked her.He stood and looked out into the aisle. Nothing but blackness. There's nothing to fear. He stroked her neck softly to soothe her. Her shrill whinny told him it wasn't working. "Shh," he said and turned to Marcus. "I'm not sure what's upset her but she must have heard something."
Resuming his previous position he asked his brother about the third vision.
"Two men sword fighting in a clearing in a forest. One was injured and the other just laughed at him. That's all I can remember," Marcus said, racking his brain for any detail he had overlooked. Coming up with nothing, he groaned and said, "I hate this. What good is seeing the future if you can't even remember it!"
Analisa trembled slightly as she saw that she had spooked the mare, she didn't notice that after he had trembled her hair had fell down into the light a bit.
Hektor chuckled. "Can't say I am jealous, brother. I quite like my horses. Speaking of which, what do you think I should call this young one?" He paused, feeling somewhat guilty. "I asked Mint, but I shooed her away..."
"Hmmm," Marcus said, looking at the foal in question. "You were always better at picking out names for animals," he said with a grin. He was thinking back on the time when there had been a stray cat that had stayed in the stable. Marcus had wanted to name the poor thing Bob. Luckily, Hektor had talked him out of it.
Deciding she should just show her self she took a deep breath, moved away from the horses and stepped out of the shadows. She wore a commoner outfit but it has an emblem in it showing she was known as the Queen of Thieves to them.
Hektor smiled broadly and was about to reply when another shockwave of fear flew through the air. He looked first to the mare as she stamped her foot and neighed wildly then to the door where he saw a locke of orange hair in the light.Getting to his feet faster then he thought possible he grabbed his sword that lay beside him and lunged at the door calling,"Who's there?"
"Only me brother calm your self and that horse...." She snapped as she leaped into the stable rafters and jumped down away from the horse.
"So much for quiet," Marcus muttered while lifting his hand back to his throbbing head. Would his headache ever go away?
She sighed and turned back. "I only came back to gather my things, after that I'm not coming back." She said sadly as she darted into the palace.
Hektor narrowed his eyes. "Hate to break it to you, sister, but that horse knows when you're up to no good. And quiet," he added. "This one's just a baby yet, and Marcus has a headache."
Hektor shrugged. "Hell if I know. Whatever it is it can't be good." he shook his head. "Just look at what she's done to my mare."Rubbing his face aggravatingly he looked at Marcus trying to shake the still present fear from himself. "So have you seen that girl recently. What's her name, that Lord's daughter?"
((if your talking about Arabella, she's in the servant quarters, AND YOU DON'T KNOW SHE'S A LORDS DAUGHTER, THAT'S THE WHOL POINT OF HER BEING A SPY!!!!!)))))
"Wasn't it you who had your eye on that wily daughter of Casmir's? (random Lord's name :P) Or was that Ronan?" Hektor smirked. "I certainly wouldn't blame you if you did. She was something."
Analisa walked back to the stable to say bye, she had on the same clothes but had a back pack and a bag filled with her most important stuff.
Marcus chuckled. "That was most definitely Ronan. I prefer the funny girls. He likes the devastatingly beautiful ones that'll rip his hear out. I'm quite sure I told him that as well," he said. Marcus had been coming back from a vision. It was always quite disorienting. Time didn't stop. It was like his subconscious took over controlling his body while his conscious mind took on the task of deciphering the visions.
Hektor rolled his eyes at Analisa. "Come to scare the baby again?" he paused, eyeing his sister. "Say, why were you out so late anyway?"
Her eyes narrowed." That is none of your business and no I'm not here to scare the little one, in here to say good bye." She said sadly
Hektor raised his eyebrows. Typical dramatic Analisa, he thought."We may annoy you, but know the feeling is mutual and it's only because we love each other too much."
Her eyes hardened as she sighed and removed the jacket he wore, she had scars up and down her arms, some very recent still pink."you call this love." She spat at Hektor." this is no home for me. I'm to different to fit in, even the maids hate me. That's why I ran last time because I don't like it here because I feel unwelcome." She said harshly.
