Hey, there. I guess I'm first. :)I'm Kaitlin and I am proud to be a bookaholic! I read mostly YA books, but occasionally I branch out to other areas.
I don't really write anything except for school essays, but I love to bring in examples from books (especially The Book Thief and A Christmas Carol).
Hi Kaitlin! Indeed, I guess you are first! Way to go! ;)
It's great to have you here. Don't worry if you don't write that much. This group is for YA readeres just as much as writers, so be sure to enjoy yourself! Welcome aboard and feel free to post away in the discussion and games and whatnot. As you can see, we're a brand new group and we need all the activity we can get.

Hello, I'm Marie-Michel.
English is my second language but I'll try my best ;)
I don't write but I love to read YA books (and other genre but mostly YA). Some of my favorites are: Under the never sky by Veronica Rossi, Across the universe by Beth Revis, The Hunger Games (of course!), Harry Potter (again, of course!), Bloodlines by Richelle Mead, Dark Fever by Karen Marie Moning, Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr,Graceling by Kristin Cashore and many others!
Welcome, Marie! Wow, I wouldn't have noticed English was your second language if you hadn't said anything! I wish I could speak a second language fluently. I'm limited to the two years of Spanish I took in high school, haha!
Under The Never Sky is a great series, and - naturally - so are Harry Potter and Hunger Games. ;) Across the Universe came lose to being our March group read, but we ultimately went with The Book Thief. I'll have to read it soon. I've heard great things about it!
We're glad to have you and feel free to post away!

Hi, I'm Ruth. Thanks for the invite to the group!I love reading YA dystopian and fantasy novels. Some of my favorites are The Hunger Games, Divergent, Mortal Instruments, Die for Me, Graceling and Delirium.
I love to read and I also love to write. I focus primarily on the YA genre. In April, "Aberrant" will be released by LazyDay Publishing. It is a YA Dystopian Fantasy and the first in a trilogy. I've also been writing YA Contemporary and YA Fantasy).

Hi everyone! My name is Christen and I have loved reading books since I was young. I love how much it transports me away into new places and reading on the character's adventures! Nice to meet you all. :D
Welcome Katlin! No need to be a writer. Both readers and/or writers are welcome here. <3
Welcome Marie! I love THG (who does't?) and Harry Potter (again, who does't?). I've actually been very curious about Richelle Mead. Actually got Vampire Academy the other day, so we'll see how that goes!
Welcome Ruth! I'm also a huge dystopian fan! Congrats on your book going out in the world! Looks like you write many different genres. :D
Welcome Christen! Glad to see others share love for reading!

Hi there, I'm Kate - not a ya, but a mother of 5 teenagers! I enjoy many different genres, including ya and kids books - i always read what my kids are reading, and in return they read what i write!!I would LOVE some more young minds to review my novel. It is called 'Emospherica' (The Destiny of Jasmine Blade Pt.1) and is available on Amazon Kindle for $2.99 US. If I get enough interest, I may set up a free download week :) I have also nearly completed a novel for boys called 'Volcanoes Suck' - dedicated to my 4 crazy sons. Nice to find this group :)
Welcome Kate! It's always nice to have authors join us! And, wow, with five teenagers in your house, I bet there's never a dull moment! XD
Congrats on your work! I'm sure it's great. ^-^
Feel free to poke around and post as much as you feel comfortable.

Woah. There's a lot of people here. Anyway, this is kinda late, but I guess I'll introduce myself. I'm Elim. I love reading books and I love writing too. I'm currently writing a joint story...Um...Nice to meet you? Haha
Hi, I'm Lauren. I guess I'm a little late introducing myself, too. Hopefully I'll be more active on here soon, but college has been getting in the way of my reading! :) I love all the YA stuff I've read lately, and I have a giant stack that I still need to read. I also love to read fantasy!
Hey all. I'm Simmaron. A bookaholic , bookworm. as soon as I finish up a book there's an urge to start another. I stopped reading cuz of studies but because of goodreads I resumed and now it's getting hard to study. Argh . Lol :D
Hey there, Simmaron! Welcome! Ah, yes, the woes of studies - I know exactly what you mean, lol.
Feel free to poke around and post as much as you feel comfortable! =)

ABERRANT was finally released last week. So exciting! I've had a few book bloggers review the novel, and so far the comments have all been extremely positive. I'm currently offering a giveaway on Goodreads for three signed copies. If you're interested, definitely sign up!
ABERRANT is a YA Dystopian novel, released April 17th. It is the first in a trilogy.
Congrats, Ruth! You should be proud! I made sure to sign up and added it to my to-read list. It sounds great!
Hi, I'm Amanda and I've been obsessed with YA since I was five and I'd sneak behind the library stacks with the Sweet Valley High books I was forbidden from checking out. In high school I started volunteering at that library and eventually started a YA summer reading program. Now I'm hoping to write and publish a YA novel of my own as soon as I finish grad school.
Welcome Amanda! It's great to have you here! It's great that you're writing your own novel. I've started a few of my own (though mine aren't YA) and I have yet to finish one. :/ I'm also about to start my grad school career! What did you study?
I'm in an American Studies program and my specialty is pop culture/media studies. I've written papers about Superman comics, the Watchmen graphic novel, masculinity in the Supernatural TV series & its fanfiction (which I presented at the National Popular Culture/American Culture Assn. conference in San Antonio in 2010), and an anthropological study of Supernatural fan conventions that was cited in a real academic text (I'd link it, but I'm using the iPhone app, which doesn't let me). My undergrad degree is in English lit, and I once turned in the opening chapter of a modernized lesbian version of Pride & Prejudice (I made Darcy a girl) for a class assignment. ;)
Sounds like you certainly know what you love to do! I'll be leaving for graduate school for zooarchaeology in August, which means I majored in anthropology for my undergrad work. It's really cool that you wrote a Supernatural paper with an anthropological perspective!
Hi:) I'm Elena and I'm from Spain. I write some stories, but they are in Spanish and they aen´t very good. I can't choose my favourite books, I can't even remember it. Seriously, I think I have a problem or maybe there are very very good writers!
I want to say that I'm so happy for being in this group, and I think we are going to have a very good time! :)
Welcome Elena! I completely understand what you mean when you say it's hard to pick out favorite books or authors. There's simply too many to name! But that's always a good problem to have, I think. :D
I hope you enjoy being a part of the group and feel free to poke around and post as much as you like! We're happy to have you here!

Welcome Ailbhe! It's always nice to have another YA reader here! We hope you enjoy your time here. Feel free to play some games and post discussions about your favorite (or least favorite) books.
Hey everybody, my name is Tanya, and even though my mom really hates it, I practically live and breathe books. I am not too new to reading although I only really started reading in large quantity two years ago. But now my friends joke that I'm not much of a bookworm.....more like a bookBUTTERFLY if any of you find that funny, it cracks me up all the time. :P
My reading lists are still miniature but I am adding more books to both my READ and TO-READ everyday.
I enjoy read YA romances, adventures, dystopian YAs, mysteries and some middle school series I haven't managed to read in junior high :)
I have also been trying to start writing a YA for quite some time but haven't been too successful so far so I am still working on it.
So that's me, nice to meet you all too :D

If you like, we also have a writing section for advice and reviews. It's still relatively small, but both Cassie and I write in our spare time and we're always willing to lend a hand to a fellow writer!
Feel free to post in the games or challenges or wherever you feel comfortable!

I aspire to be a writer, and just sent out draft one of a manuscript to some friends of mine for critique. My goal is to start querying it before 2014.
Hmm... I just finished my freshman year in college.
Oh, my favorite band is/was Paramore, if you can't tell. (I'm considering changing them out as my fave band, cuz the new stuff they've been coming out with is just... bad.)
And that's me in a nutshell!
Welcome! We always welcome writers here in our group! Best of luck with your current project and if you ever need help with advice on anything, feel free to ask. Cassie and I both write in our spare time, too. Feel free to poke around and post as much as you feel comfortable! :D
