Trish at Between My Lines (trishbetweenmylines) What is your favourite book series? Do you like reading series?

I have so many I don't know where to start. I suppose Harry Potter is the one that really sticks out for me. Although thinking back, my attraction to series probably started with Enid Blyton's Malory Towers :) I also love Divergent series by Veronica Roth and the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver.

Both of these are also the reason why I have a bit of a love, hate relationship with series though. I love getting to know the characters and seeing them grow as the series progress but I hate waiting for the last book, I have no patience!

This is probably going to sound sad but I have never read the entire Harry Potter series. Thought its not for a lack of trying. As a kid I was told I couldn't read them because it was witch craft and when I tried to sneak read them I only got to book four before I was caught. Never picked them back up after that.

But for favorite series, lets see. . . Right now I'm totally and completely in love with the Experiment in Terror series by Karina Halle. Other then that I try to stay away from series they tend to disappoint me.

Mortal Instruments. Black Dagger Brotherhood.

I love series. But my favourite genre is YA Paranormal. :) So I tend to love teenage books. I never read Harry Potter or the Divergent series. I do have them on my TBR ;) Maybe when my review requests slow down I will jump to those...As it stands now though, I'll be reviewing books for a solid two months. I'm having a hard time keeping up with the promises of my blog lol. I won't quit though, I love it. :) I may just have to bring another reviewer on board lol.

Trish at Between My Lines (trishbetweenmylines) Hi Angie, haven't heard of Experiment in Terror but am off now to look them up and see what they are about. Like I need to add any more books to my to-be-read pile!
Kristine, I love YA too but especially dystopia. I highly recomend Divergent whenever (if ever!) you have a reading gap.
I'm getting behind on my reviews too, they are stacking high but I keep requesting more books. Such an addiction. But we could be doing worse :)

That series (Divergent) has been on my TBR list for over a year I believe. I really should find some time to read it soon lol.

I'm sure your going to love the EIT series, I think you can still get the first book Darkhouse for free.

I'm a fan of dystopia books myself, and I'm pretty sure I read the first book in the Divergent series, but didn't continue it mainly because the second book probably wasn't out yet. Its one of the reasons I try to stay away from series, I read so much that when the newest book comes out it takes me a bit to get back into the flow of that series.

Right now I'm kinda into steampunk, so anyone that knows any good books from the genre throw em my way.

Trish at Between My Lines (trishbetweenmylines) Angie, steampunk, what on earth is that! Educate me :)

Ha! Lets see how to go about this. . .Most books with steampunk take place in the Victorian Era, so you have all the fun of corsets but add in funky machines that all run off of steam. Like steam powered horses, little gadgets, and a ton of other things. Most of the time your main character is some sort of tinker. I'm finding it pretty hard to try and explain it.

This is something I stumbled over by accident, and I've haven't had much luck finding anything really worth reading but the stuff I have found is a fun read. I like things that take place in Victorian Era, but sometimes those books can get stuffy, and most of them are crazy romances. I like a good romance, but not all the time.

Knowing its hard to find, if you think you might be interested in checking out what steampunk is here are two books worth checking out:

Flash Gold (a steampunk novella set in the Yukon) (The Flash Gold Chronicles) by Lindsay Buroker. You can find this one free on Amazon. Its pretty short, but I remember enjoying it, and its part of a series. If I remember correctly this one doesn't take place in the Victorian Era, and it more about the Gold Rush.

Magnificent Devices: A steampunk adventure novel by Shelley Adina would be the next one. Now I'm not totally sure this is the first book in the series, and its been a while since I've read it. But this one is Victorian, as you will be able to see from the cover. I'm pretty sure its also YA.

Steampunk is fun to me, makes me want to tinker around with little machines and see what I could make (which in reality would be a pile of nothing).

Oh you might want to also check out Indigo & Iris (An Indigo Lewis Novel) by C.M. Stunich. This is definitely an adult read, but it shows more steampunk then others. Thinking about it a little more I guess you could say steampunk is taking really weird ideas and things and making them real. I surprised myself by forgetting this one because its one of my favorite books.

Angie, I have a YA steampunk/time travel novel coming out in November. It's called Extracted and it's awesome :)

Wow, you took a few of my favorite things and put them in a book. November is so far away that I feel like I just got teased about it though ;).

I'll keep a look out for it.

Trish at Between My Lines (trishbetweenmylines) Hi Angie, I'm a bit intrigued by the whole steampunk thing, think I will have to check one of those books out and see what I think of it.
Are you a member of the making connections group. There is a steampunk book on there that an author is offering for free in exchange for a review. Sounds like it might be right up your alley, it was only added in the last few days.

Well I joined the group, but I'm having no luck on finding the book you are talking about. There is just to many. If you remember the name of it please let me know because I would really like to check it out. Thanks!

Trish at Between My Lines (trishbetweenmylines) Angie - it's in the fantasy section. Book no 887 Healers Touch by Deb E. Howell. Hope you find it, seen as you already like the genre you would be an ideal person to review it.

I saw it after I posted. . .turned out that I had already read it a few days ago. I was sick when I read it so I passed on writing the review on it. But thanks for looking out for me. . .I've seen a few others that I'm interested in over there though.
