Juliet was working milking the cows but then it started raining. She winces slightly but that was all as the rain started pouring now making her hair all wet along with her clothes. She let out a little gasp of pain though as the person watching over her slapped her and yelled at her to get to work which she slowly got back to. As her boss went inside but still watched Juliet, she was forced to stay in the pouring freezing rain which caused her to shiver now. She was glad the rain was hiding the steamy tears rolling down her cheeks as her aching tired hands kept milking the cows though the dirt on the ground turned to mud making her dirty.
Leon slipped through the boundary fence of the district with a sack of goods on his back along with his group of friends that fought for the same cause:keep the district alive. As they walked through town, each of the men returned to their own homes bringing food and supplies for their families. This liberation was too close compared to their last ones. His own face had a fresh cut reaching up to his forehead and down to his chin."Well chicks dig cuts and scars like this..."he thought to himself with a chuckle
As Juliet was finishing up and heading inside shivering from the cold her boss ordered her to go get some bread from the market. She was about to object because of the rain but saw the flash of anger through the mans eyes and nods quickly. She quickly runs through the mud rain pouring as she headed for the market, suddenly she bumped into Leon. " S-S-So-orry" She stuttered badly her cheek had a deep cut in it which was bleeding but she was also covered in mud as she shivers badly. This girl shouldnt even be out in weather like this but she wanted to obey the orders given to her and not face problems later.
"No need to apologize," Leon said adjusting his hold on his bag over his shoulder. The first thing Leon saw about her was the fresh cut on her face similar to his own. "I doubt she had a run in with the Peacekeepers too," he thought to himself. She looked as though she was in a hurry too considering she didn't have a jacket on. "What are you doing out here like this anyway? You should get inside". He was in a bit of a hurry himself to get home considering the food in his bag couldn't get wet otherwise it'd spoil.
"I have to go to the market.." she says softly, the market was all the way on the other side of town. She heard a crack of thunder above them causing her to wince "I-Im sorry for getting in your way..i h-h-have to go" Her tone was shy and soft but also had hints of fear in it as she gets around him quickly. She covered her mouth slightly coughing then tried to hurry to the market trying not to get all the mud on her.
Leon's hand suddenly caught hold of her arm and pulled her back to him. "It's on the other side of town. And with a storm, and the way you're coughing, I'm willing to bet that you won't make it". He fished out some bread from his bag wrapped in a cloth to keep some of the heat in. He pressed it close to her and held it there for a while. He somehow saw himself in her. Her struggle reminded him of his own. "Take it, and go." Leon's hands pulled away from her's
Juliet winced when the boy grabbed hold of her and pulled her back " But i ne-" she was then cut off as the warm pressed was pressed to her. She just blinked for a moment before looking up at him " Thank y-y-you" she said and with a shaky hand she pulled out the coin sack her boss gave her giving it to him. " T-There.." she whispers making sure to keep the bread dry then with one last look at Leon she turned and rushed to the big barn house. The thing was everyone knew how awful the owner-her boss- was and that he beat every single one of his employees she just prayed he didnt notice as she rushed to it.
Leon watched her vanish into the rain toward whatever it was she was going. Thunder boomed over head and Leon made his way back over to his home. Leon closed the door behind him and locked it when the wind began to pick up outside. His younger brother was walking around looking for his other brother when Leon came in. He smiled widely and he ran over to him and hugged him. "Leon! Jarren, Leon's home!" He shouted then Leon's older brother came out from his hiding spot in the closet with a grin on his face. "Welcome back home man". They greeted each other with an arm hug then Leon unloaded his goods onto their kitchen table
When she reached back to the barn house she carefully set the bread down on the counter. She was shivering from the coldness her wet clothes brought and sighs softly. She began preparing dinner for her boss and as she stood next to the stove she warmed up a bit as she cooked some soup and then cut some of the bread. She set the table and while her boss wasnt looking slipped a piece of bread and went to the room where she laid down on the bed of blankets. She never was allowed a real bed so she had piles of blankets on the floor as a bed she sits down quietly as a little girl comes crawling out from under the blanket fort. Juliet smiles softly then hands half of the piece of bread to her "Did he hurt you today?" she asked quietly and the little girl, Anna, shook her head and ate her bread then when Juliet and the little girl was done they laid down and the little girl curled up into Juliet scared of the thunder outside.
Leon unloaded all of his goods at last and his younger brother's mouth practically drooled over the food. Leon chuckled and ruffled the kid's hair. "Go tell Dad that dinner's ready bro", his brother nodded and hurried into their parent's bedroom leaving Leon alone with his older brother. Jarren lost the joy in his face when he turned his gaze to his brother "You know you can't keep this up forever," Jarren said to Leon. Leon turned his gaze back to him and replied "I'll keep it up until the day I die". "What if you die because of it? Then what?" Jarren countered back to him. Jarren already had the only job in the family to provide. "Then I died knowing I did something good with my life," Leon answered then turned his back to Jarren. "You and I both know that if I don't make it one of these days, the family can survive still." Jarren sighed and shook his head"You're missing the point Leon". Leon walked away from his brother and closed the door just as he heard his younger brother come back into their kitchen with their father. Mother wasn't there."Not surprising.."he thought to himself as he cleaned himself up using the small bathroom sink then he saw his reflection in the mirror. His cut along the side of his face was scabbing over. "Lovely...", he thought to himself.
Juliet hummed to the little girl Anna closing her eyes. "Everything will be fine.." She whispers to the small girl as the thunger keeps booming she smiles softly kissing the girls forehead. Anna soon slowly fell asleep to Juliets humming and she smiles again before closing her eyes falling asleep now.
Leon walked out of the bathroom and back into his bedroom. He slipped his shoes off kicking them under the bed, then he slipped his shirt off. He moved the blankets back on his bed and laid himself down. All three of his brothers shared one bedroom: Jarren got his own bed, his youngest brother, Mikkey, shared a bed with Leon. He lay as close to the wall as possible replaying in his mind today's earlier events with Juliet looking scared when he ran into her, and the look on her face when he gave her the bread."She could be stronger if she gave herself some time and credit.."he thought to himself as he fell asleep.

Anna was cornered by the large man and Anna had a large cut on her cheek. Juliet panicked for a moment, get the peacekeepers? No that would take to long, she took a pan and hit it across the mans head harshly knocking him out. " Come on" she said picking up lil anna and ran outside of the house.

Leon left the house early in the morning before either of his brothers or parents could get up. He brought his bag that had his weapons in it, and that he would use to carry his supplies that he would 'liberate' from other districts. The sun had yet to peak out over the horizon so it was still dark and grey outside. He looked up to see Juliet suddenly run out of what looked like a barn with another girl he'd never seen before.
Juliet really didnt have any where to go and she reached a safe place. She took a cloth she had and dabbed annas cheek as she starts crying. " Shh shh Anna" she whispers to the crying girl who hid her face in her chest. Juliet stroked her head kissing her forehead, " You are safe..shhh.."
Leon looked back at the border fence of District 10 and then at the place Juliet ran off to. "Oh fuck me.."he thought to himself as he hurried after her. He'd have to meet up with his friends for the raid later. He ended up finding Juliet holding Anna in her arms. He could see some blood coming off.

Leon held up his hand showing that he was any threat. He knelt down in front of them both "I'm not gonna hurt either of you." He looks closer at Anna and see the cut on her cheek. "If you leave that untreated, it'll get infected. You need medicine".
"W-We dont have a--any money" Juliet says softly. Anna looked at Leon then nuzzled her small body into Juliet still crying. Now that the sun was up it really was visible that they were covered in cuts and bruises.
"Who said anything about money?" Leon said back to Juliet with his eyes hinting that he was up to something. He stood up now "Wait here, and don't do anything stupid". He pulled out one of his knives from his person and set it down in front of Juliet. "There's no shame in trying to protect yourself". He left their hiding spot and went to the Peacekeeper's head quarters in district 10. They wouldn't give out medicine by choice... That's where Leon would come in
