Breathtaking performance, sung in 1922.

The most shockingly realistic version of Tosca Act II is the 1964 film of Maria Callas and Tito Gobbi at Covent Garden. There you see a really desperate, vulnerable woman reacting. The two were longtime friends who played off each other to give an electrifying performance.

My favorite part is when Cavaradossi stands up and starts yelling at Scarpia: "VITTORIA!! VITTORIA!!!!!" Poor him he dies...
