To start us off I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this book. Check out my review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

It seemed fitting for me to borrow some discussion questions straight from the source. http://beautifulcreaturesnovels.com
Feel free to answer some/all/none. :)

1)Why did Ethan want to leave Gatlin? Can you relate to his feelings?
2)What did you think about the Jackson High Guardian Angels?
3)What do you think happened to Ethan’s mother? What makes you think this?
4)What is going on with Ethan’s dad? Do you think anything can help him?
5)Lena read from The Book of Moons that “withoute darknesse there can be no light” (p.409). What does this mean? Can you imagine all good, all the time? What would that be like?
6)Beautiful Creatures incorporates the Civil War into a present day story set in a small Southern town. What does this novel say about history? Is history always accurate? Explain.

Jocelin I read the February read a while ago but it was still fresh in my mind. This was not a real enjoyable read. If you like you can check out my review at www.goodreads.com/review/show/136204345. Saw the movie as well.

I'd love to hear your opinion of the movie! I was going to see it, but I blinked and it was out of the theatres...

Jocelin The movie was ok. It was slightly better than the book. I just didn't really care for the leads; they had zero chemistry and I couldn't believe that they were in love. I thought Jeremy Irons and Viola Davis were really good in the movie. I was very surprised at Emma Thompson's performance; little over the top and a little cheesy. There was a reason that it left the theater quickly; it was so-so. The problem with so many of the movie studios they are looking for another "Twilight" franchise to make money. Anything now, that has a supernatural romance attached to it they are all over it. Twilight wasn't that great but it was better than this movie. I would wait for it to come out on Netflix or Redbox.

I'm not a fan of the Twilight movies, so I don't like to hear that this movie was worse. You're not the first to say that there was no chemistry between the leads. I'll probably still see it, but I can wait.
