just his banter with his teacher, I love teachers like that, and they end up being like your friend as well as your teacher.

Teachers like that are awesome! There's one English teacher from two years ago that I still go and talk to sometimes :)The faerie queen is pretty awesome!

This might not be universally true, but I killed myself laughing (or very nearly) when I read it. And I'm a string player who is definitely an overachiever with my hand up all the time. :)

These are some of my favourite quotations from Ballad, along with that bit about where people sit in a classroom relating to their suck-up-ness or screwed-up-ness on page 208 of the UK edition.
Ballad is genius, because Maggie Stiefvater makes it both sarcastic and lyrical. And James is awesome.

I kind of just bought this book without reading the back. I had just finished "The raven boys" and when I saw this one on sale I just went for it.. to bad it's the second book. That was a bomber, now I have to buy lament first....
