Q&A with March 2013 Authors!

I have to have a CT on my sinuses and an ultrasound on my liver this month- the former b/c my sinus infection wouldn't go away, the latter b/c some silly # in my lab was up one round and down the next- no clue!
hope everyone is enjoying the first week of spring- finally some sunshine! God bless and keep all of you happy and safe!

Starting off our March Q&A is Noelle Marchand, the much-appreciated administrator of the Love Inspired Historical Authors Page on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/lih.authors
Noelle's book out this month is A Texas-Made Match! I think my Regency roots are showing ;) because when I read the back copy for this book, I immediately thought of Jane Austen's Emma. Did you draw any inspiration from Austen for this story Noelle? Can you tell us a bit about why Ellie likes to play matchmaker?

Deborah your right the back of the book does sound like Emma.
I love the sound of your book Noelle and would love to read more about the O'Brien Family. I need to get a copy of your first book since I only have The Runaway Bride. So my question is what are you currently working on??

DEB: I LOVE Jane Austen and I have read all of her books except oddly enough...Emma! I've seen the movies so I have a general idea of the story line and can see some similarities now that you mention it. How funny! The tables get turned on my heroine, though. So it's interesting to see her get a taste of her own medicine.
Ellie started playing matchmaker when she was a kid in Unlawfully Wedded Bride. She definitely gets the ball rolling with the hero and heroine there. As she grew up, she discovered she had a knack for noticing the little signs that betray people's affections. What else could she do, but help get them together?
LAURA: Oh my goodness, what am I not working on? lol. The past few months have been a time of planning and preparation in my writing life so I have a lot in the works including a proposal for another series set in Peppin. I am waiting to hear back about from publishers about a romance set in the antebellum south and have another proposal in the works that is set in the 1930s. Hopefully, I'll have good news to share about all of those projects relatively soon. :)

Enjoy your granddaughter time, Valri and have a safe trip!
Sounds like you've been busy, Noelle. Fingers crossed for the additional Pepin books and the antebellum romance! I'm sure readers will enjoy revisiting Ellie.

Melody - I second Valri, you'll enjoy her stories.
Noelle - so nice to now catch up with Ellie. I'm looking forward to reading her story. You are busy - those stories sound good. Will the new series in Peppin have the same characters, or will it be a different generation?

WENDY: The series will pick up right after this story ends with some of the characters you meet in A Texas-Made Match. :)

I love the idea of more about Peppin and meeting more of the characters and seeing what is going on with the older ones. This is why I love series so much!

LAURA: That's the idea!
JANE: I hope you enjoy it. :)

I'll be ordering your book tonight. God bless your writing.

Today's guest author is Regina Scott who will be telling us about her March book, The Heiress's Homecoming.
This is the last of Regina's popular Everard Legacy series and it concludes the series on such a high note. Much as I loved the previous yummy hero-only covers, this one featuring the heroine is my favorite so far. And in this case you can judge a book by its amazing cover, because the story is a winner too. Romantic Times Book Review chose it as a Top Pick, something that only a handful of LIH books a year manage to get!
So Regina, how did it feel to end the Everard series? Were you sorry to leave the characters or looking forward to moving on to something new? Is there any chance some of the Everards could pop up in future books?

DEB: It is a little odd to think of leaving the Everards behind. I've been writing them for over a year, and they've been in my head longer! I wouldn't be surprised if they don't show up in future books. :-)
LAURA: I'm so glad you've enjoyed the series! I'm excited to be starting a new one, called The Master Matchmakers. Four handsome masters who live in a Derbyshire Dale show no signs of marrying, so their servants decide to play matchmaker. The Courting Campaign, the first in the series, will be out in August and features a hero who is a scientist, what was called a natural philosopher in those days. I used to work with a lot of scientists, so it was really fun to work their wonderfully quirkly personalities into what I hope is a compelling hero who knows a great deal about a number of things but needs to learn about love.
PAULA-O: Reviewers keep saying you can read The Heiress's Homecoming alone, but in my opinion that may spoil the ending of the previous book, The Rake's Redemption. If you don't mind knowing who the big-bad villain was, then it would be fine to read it ahead of the others.
More questions? :-)

And speaking of The Heiress's Homecoming, it is one of the featured books on Joyce Lamb's USA Today "Happily Ever After" blog!

Congratulations on the wonderful exposure, Regina! I hope this brings you and the Everards lots more readers!

Had a quick look here but no time to read all comments.
but the books do look really good.

Thanks for the update, Ausjenny! I don't like tests any more than Lyn, but hope this one helps them get you fixed up.

Be sure to check out the photos of Regina in Regency dress. I'm not sure how she manages to look like a demure Regency lady in one picture and a dapper Regency gentleman in another! :)

Barbara Phinney, who has written for the Love Inspired Suspense and Harlequin Romantic Suspense lines, is making her LIH debut this month with her medieval Bound to the Warrior. However, Barbara is off to Haiti this week. Once she gets back, I'll see if I can coax her here to tell us about her trip and her new book.
For now we have three LIH favorite authors dropping by to chat and answer questions. Tomorrow Noelle Marchand will be here to tell us about A Texas-Made Match. On Wednesday, Regina Scott will tell us a bit about happens during The Heiress's Homecoming. Then on Thursday, Linda Ford will introduce us to the second of her Cowboys of Eden Valley series The Cowboy's Unexpected Family.
So get your questions ready and we'll see you tomorrow!
