Q&A with March 2013 Authors!
im away this week having an MRI tomorrow and will have little to no internet access till i get home on Sunday night. I may get a tiny bit of time Thursday - Saturday mornings (30 mins if im lucky) but that will be it.
thanks I just want answers so we know what to do with it. I leave in about 25 mins to walk to the bus.
Keeping you in prayer Jenny! Had to have a MRI two years ago- to do that for the complete spine took over an hour! hopefully yours will be much shorter!! Hope it helps them find answers to what's going on and provide good solutions for you!I have to have a CT on my sinuses and an ultrasound on my liver this month- the former b/c my sinus infection wouldn't go away, the latter b/c some silly # in my lab was up one round and down the next- no clue!
hope everyone is enjoying the first week of spring- finally some sunshine! God bless and keep all of you happy and safe!
Starting off our March Q&A is Noelle Marchand, the much-appreciated administrator of the Love Inspired Historical Authors Page on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/lih.authors
Noelle's book out this month is A Texas-Made Match! I think my Regency roots are showing ;) because when I read the back copy for this book, I immediately thought of Jane Austen's Emma. Did you draw any inspiration from Austen for this story Noelle? Can you tell us a bit about why Ellie likes to play matchmaker?
Prays for you AusJenny and Kimberly. Hopefully they can find where the problem is and get it taken care of. Deborah your right the back of the book does sound like Emma.
I love the sound of your book Noelle and would love to read more about the O'Brien Family. I need to get a copy of your first book since I only have The Runaway Bride. So my question is what are you currently working on??
Good morning, everyone! Lol. Deb, you outed me. I've kind of stayed behind the scenes on the Facebook page. Not gonna lie I was starting to feel a little like Oz so it's probably a good thing. :)DEB: I LOVE Jane Austen and I have read all of her books except oddly enough...Emma! I've seen the movies so I have a general idea of the story line and can see some similarities now that you mention it. How funny! The tables get turned on my heroine, though. So it's interesting to see her get a taste of her own medicine.
Ellie started playing matchmaker when she was a kid in Unlawfully Wedded Bride. She definitely gets the ball rolling with the hero and heroine there. As she grew up, she discovered she had a knack for noticing the little signs that betray people's affections. What else could she do, but help get them together?
LAURA: Oh my goodness, what am I not working on? lol. The past few months have been a time of planning and preparation in my writing life so I have a lot in the works including a proposal for another series set in Peppin. I am waiting to hear back about from publishers about a romance set in the antebellum south and have another proposal in the works that is set in the 1930s. Hopefully, I'll have good news to share about all of those projects relatively soon. :)
Good luck, Jenny! I've had many MRIs. They aren't my favorite but must be done! Noelle, I read everything you write so I know this will be a great book too! I'm excited to get back to Ellie! I enjoyed her character before. I'm off to Philadelphia tomorrow for 5 weeks to help my son & dil with my granddaughter so this is the only LIH I can participate in this month. So glad it was you, Noelle! I will miss the others though!
Enjoy your granddaughter time, Valri and have a safe trip!
Sounds like you've been busy, Noelle. Fingers crossed for the additional Pepin books and the antebellum romance! I'm sure readers will enjoy revisiting Ellie.

I haven't read any of Noelle's though they are now all added to my want to read list! haha I enjoy nevertheless hearing the questions and answers :)
Melody, you will love Noelle's books! They are so good! Deb, I will love my granddaughter time but hard to be gone that long from my hubby! Oh well, it's time to be a mom and grandma! HE'S the one that volunteered me so he can't complain!
Praying for you Jenny & Kimberly. Hope you have a lovely time Valri.Melody - I second Valri, you'll enjoy her stories.
Noelle - so nice to now catch up with Ellie. I'm looking forward to reading her story. You are busy - those stories sound good. Will the new series in Peppin have the same characters, or will it be a different generation?
Thank you all for your kind words!WENDY: The series will pick up right after this story ends with some of the characters you meet in A Texas-Made Match. :)
Oh good - I love returning to familiar places & people! Will it be another family the series will focus on or a group of friends?
Have a safe trip Valri! I love the idea of more about Peppin and meeting more of the characters and seeing what is going on with the older ones. This is why I love series so much!
WENDY &VALRI: It will focus on a group of friends.LAURA: That's the idea!
JANE: I hope you enjoy it. :)
Just ordered two from Amazon. :) Unlawfully Wedded Bride I couldn't find for under fifteen bucks! Yikes! Will keep looking!
Yay! Thank you so much, Melody! 15 bucks?! That must be one of the copies they printed with gold ink. lol. Just kidding. Barnes and Nobles has some in stock. http://bit.ly/YbkktM
Hi Noelle, busy day so here late, this is my kind of book and will list it to read. enjoyed reading all the comments from the girls above, thanks for sharing with us today. Does it take long to write a story like this one?
Melody, if I find Unlawfully Wedded Bride, I'll send it to you! However, since I'm leaving for 5 weeks, it might be awhile! We have a great used book store that I go to and they might have it! I'll look the next time I go!
PAULA: Glad to have you here! I think it depends on the story. I wrote this one over a summer break from college. A little less than three months maybe?
Hi Noelle! I love your books. I've reread 'Unlawfully Weeded Bride'at least twice! I especially enjoy authors who have a good sense of humor that comes out in their characters. Ellie was a favorite of mine since the beginning so I can't wait to see her all grown up and in love herself. I'll be ordering your book tonight. God bless your writing.
Today's guest author is Regina Scott who will be telling us about her March book, The Heiress's Homecoming.
This is the last of Regina's popular Everard Legacy series and it concludes the series on such a high note. Much as I loved the previous yummy hero-only covers, this one featuring the heroine is my favorite so far. And in this case you can judge a book by its amazing cover, because the story is a winner too. Romantic Times Book Review chose it as a Top Pick, something that only a handful of LIH books a year manage to get!
So Regina, how did it feel to end the Everard series? Were you sorry to leave the characters or looking forward to moving on to something new? Is there any chance some of the Everards could pop up in future books?
I love the Everard Legacy and can't wait till I get a my hands on a copy of The Heiress's Homecoming. What are you currently working on?
Good Morning Regina and everyone, I checked this books details and love the way it sounds, the cover is really pretty, can this story be read alone as I have not read the others yet? I like the type where they do not like each other at first and then something clicks and they are "in Love". thanks for sharing with us today.
Hi, all! A big thanks to Deb for so faithfully setting up these Q&As every month! I love hearing about all the new books too!DEB: It is a little odd to think of leaving the Everards behind. I've been writing them for over a year, and they've been in my head longer! I wouldn't be surprised if they don't show up in future books. :-)
LAURA: I'm so glad you've enjoyed the series! I'm excited to be starting a new one, called The Master Matchmakers. Four handsome masters who live in a Derbyshire Dale show no signs of marrying, so their servants decide to play matchmaker. The Courting Campaign, the first in the series, will be out in August and features a hero who is a scientist, what was called a natural philosopher in those days. I used to work with a lot of scientists, so it was really fun to work their wonderfully quirkly personalities into what I hope is a compelling hero who knows a great deal about a number of things but needs to learn about love.
PAULA-O: Reviewers keep saying you can read The Heiress's Homecoming alone, but in my opinion that may spoil the ending of the previous book, The Rake's Redemption. If you don't mind knowing who the big-bad villain was, then it would be fine to read it ahead of the others.
More questions? :-)
Regina, I love all of your books so far and can't wait to find out what happens to our little heiress now that she's had her season. My sister and I compare notes on your books and the public library even carries a copy of each one. (They don't have very many LIH books on their racks so that tells me that many others love your writing as well.)
Thank you, Bonnie! I'm so glad you enjoy the books! And I'm always glad to hear when libraries carry any of our books. I know some treasure their romance collections, but others struggle to allocate funds for genre paperbacks of any kind. Our libraries here started putting them among the main collection now, which is very nice! Now I can find them in the catalog.
I know in our area, that if we ask for a book and they don't have it on the shelves, they will check with other libraries in the area. (A nice thing about living in the Chicago-land is that there are many libraries to with which to share books.) If they still can't come up with the requested item, they will buy it outright. They also like it when we let them know what books we want to read so they can purchase more of that genre in the future.
And speaking of The Heiress's Homecoming, it is one of the featured books on Joyce Lamb's USA Today "Happily Ever After" blog!

Congratulations on the wonderful exposure, Regina! I hope this brings you and the Everards lots more readers!

Thanks, Deb! I'm excited! And it sounds like you have a great library system, Bonnie. I so love our libraries--great stories, helpful people. When I step through the doors, I feel like I'm coming home. :-)
I have a couple of mins so will update. MRI done it was interesting wish I could read it as they printed it of by accident and I have a copy but no notes. I just hope it shows what it is and does show up. Will know next Wed.Had a quick look here but no time to read all comments.
but the books do look really good.
Thank you for updating us, Ausjenny! So glad to hear the procedure went well. Will be praying for good results!
Thanks for the update, Ausjenny! I don't like tests any more than Lyn, but hope this one helps them get you fixed up.
Also, for anyone who would like to know more about Regina and her books, you can visit her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/authorregina... (be sure to "Like" her)
Be sure to check out the photos of Regina in Regency dress. I'm not sure how she manages to look like a demure Regency lady in one picture and a dapper Regency gentleman in another! :)

REGINA: I am really excited about reading the last book in the Everard series, Regina! I've been looking forward to it.
Hi, Jane! Thank you for ordering the book! I'm currently working on the second book of my new series about servants who play matchmaker for their masters. This one features an earl whose valet arranges a fortnight house party at his fishing retreat, without his knowledge. As an honorable fellow, how can he explain to three women that he doesn't intend to propose, particularly when one of those women looks highly likely to steal his heart? And thank you for the kind words, Noelle!
