By popular demand...the 2nd Annual Lexington Reads Book Talk & Swap is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29th, from 7:00-8:30 PM. The event will take place this year at the Tates Creek Branch Library. There will be publisher representatives on hand to discuss upcoming titles, along with light refreshments and your Lexington Reads friends. We will also have a book swap -- bring a book, and take another home!

Mark your calendars and contact me with any questions. Hope to see you there!

We're almost one month away! Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Book Talk/Swap on Wednesday, May 29th, from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Tates Creek Branch. Not sure about coming? Talk to somebody who attended last year!

The event is still a go! We will have representatives from University Press of Kentucky, Penguin, and Random House, as well as Joseph Beth Booksellers. Giveaways, book swap, and more. Bring a friend!

Hi Mari,

Thanks for staying in touch. As I mentioned during our correspondence in March, someone from Apex would be welcome to come and speak briefly about upcoming titles. The event will be fairly informal and will take place in the large meeting room at Tates Creek, just to the right when you enter the front doors. Please confirm with me if you or someone else from Apex is interested in presenting so that I will be able to schedule appropriately, and let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!

Hi Bobby,

Thanks for the opportunity to present. Unfortunately, I don't think I can put something together by then. If you do a 3rd Annual event, then I'd love to be a part of it. :)

I hope to be in attendance on Wednesday. If so, see you then!

Kit Last night was great! :D I'm looking forward to next year. Found some great books at the swap; and my daughter-in-law won Inferno, so I was more than happy! I found atleast twenty books off the lists to read. Can't wait to get started on those!

Thanks, Bobby and all the library staff for a great night!!! :D

Grace | 5 comments Well I was going to say that I won Inferno and Appalachian Toys and Games from A to Z but looks like you beat me to it.

It was a great talk. I want to say thank you to Random House, Penguin Press, Univeristy of Kentucky Press, and Joesph Beth for coming out last night and telling us about the new books to look or this summer.

I would also like to say thank you to the Tates Creek branch library for hoasting the event.

Thanks for coming! You need to buy a lottery ticket and see if your lucky streak continues. I know what you would buy with the winnings...more bookshelves! :)

I'm so glad that everyone had a good time! I enjoyed learning about the new titles, too. It was a great experience working with our partners in the book publishing/selling business and seeing the enthusiasm that everyone in attendance has for reading. Thanks so much for spending your evening with us!

Sounds like a great event. I wish I could have made it (next year, dang it). It is awesome that we have something like this in the community!

Grace | 5 comments No, you just show up. They put the information up here about the date and time and you just come and swap out your books for others.
