It's not the Famous Five, is it? They did live in a cave on an island, but they weren't shipwrecked and the narration wasn't by one of the children.Five on a Treasure Island
I was just looking at this, but it from what I saw published in 2001? Not sure if that's original or a reprint.Update: okay this very well could be it. One of the earlier covers (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia...) definitely looks kind of GIC ish.
The cave things was definitely what stuck out in my mind the most. Also, reading the summary they pass by shipwreck? Maybe that's where that idea came from.
Thank You!
Baby Island, maybe? The older two girls are siblings, but they end up baby-sitting (and taking care of, after a shipwreck) of a bunch of kids.
I was going to leave it for a few days to see if anything else came up, but I think it's close enough to count as solved

In the book a group of kids (all brothers and sisters I believe) are shipwrecked (maybe)? They end up living in a cave.
It's not Swiss Family.. or 5 Children and It. It was probably something that was never even read by very many, but I thought I'd give it a try.
I think the narration was by one of the eldest girls (kind of like seven alone).
