message 28: by Alan (new)

Alan Hardy | 4 comments Hi, I'm Alan Hardy. The book I've got out at the moment is GABRIELLA. I think it’s a story that’s been buzzing around in my head for years, and it demanded to be written down. Adolescent love (and teenage fascination with sex) is a pretty significant time and experience for us all. The idea of a love-story set around a cricket match has its roots in an earlier pimply-faced version of me as a fast bowler when at school and the scary, obsessive ideas that went through my adolescent head. When I sat down to write the story, it automatically turned into a bawdy, comical narration of a young man’s faltering(though very sweaty) first experience of love and sex.
I think I want to reach as wide an audience as possible with the story. A story of elemental love and sexual desire is something readers of all ages can identify with, young as well as old. And there’s no reason cricket-lovers shouldn’t be able to take to ‘Gabriella’. After all, wicked, probing deliveries, rubbing the ball to give a bit of spin, doggedly defending your wicket, keeping out rising balls, trying to knock over the wicket, or squeeze one through, etc., are all excellent metaphors for the game of love.
Here's the blurb for GABRIELLA:
You’ll love this bawdy, comic account of love and sex during a cricket match, where red balls, long-handled bats and probing deliveries are ideal metaphors for the game of love. This is a game of cricket played in a way you’ve never seen before. Watch the love contest between Gabriella, the aristocratic hot totty, and Jim, the virginal working-class rebel. Read of Jim’s balls smashing against Gabriella’s body and rearing up between her legs as she pads up and tries to fight off his probing deliveries. Thrill to Jim’s vicious balls divesting Gabriella of her sexy clothing until she stands defiant in her naked and beautiful glory. Read spellbound as Gabriella comes close to losing Jim to a rival. Find out the truth about Gabriella’s parentage. Follow Jim and Gabriella with ball and bat as they play out cricket’s equivalent of sexual intercourse. Will Jim and Gabriella live happily ever after, or will someone destroy Gabriella’s plans?
You can get GABRIELLA at the following:

K. Smith (kayandersensmith) | 3 comments Heya,

I’m K. Andersen Smith, a newbie independent authoress of the Nightscar series, a fantasy/supernatural romance that takes place in a time of swords and sorcery. This effort is inspired in part by my general love of urban romance, but also owes a huge debt to a love of table-top RPGs, board games, and my ages-old love of all things Tolkienesque.

Anyhow, the first book in the Nightscar Series, Dawnrise, introduces us to our three adventuring companions, an elven warlock named Aeri, a talking (or so the elf claims) black cat, and their snarky curse-throwing friend, Tabralea, a human girl from distant, sun-swept coasts. As most down-on-their luck adventurers are wont to do, they rest for a few days in the fairly quiet and picturesque trade city of Tumblewater. Their relaxation ends suddenly as they are thrust into the centre of a deadly game when horrible, fanged beasts descend from the nearby mountains and threaten to overrun the city. Complicating things further is the sudden arrival of a mysterious and solitary woodsman, an attractive hunter named Cae. He claims to know quite a bit about the strange beasts, and better still, how to overcome their magical defenses, but can they trust him? More to the point, can Aeri trust herself around the handsome stranger?

A second book is already in the works, but considering my day job (and life in general), it won’t be out for a few months. Still, I’m always interested in beta-readers, and reviewers, and of course would be willing to give my two copper coins to anyone who would be willing or asks! :)

Olga Miret (goodreadscomolganm) Hi all:
I'm Olga and although I have some unpublished work that I would put on the romance category, of the ones I've published, strictly romance I'd say, Twin Evils? that is a YA paranormal novella.
I am in the planning stages of a story that will definitely be a romance, so I hope to be able to pick your brains and get some tips.
I have also written a series of 3 novellas (Escaping Psychiatry) with the same main character, Mary, a psychiatris and writer (not a lot of romance there) and 'The Man Who Never Was' that is a family saga with unexpected things happening. It does have some romance but too many other things going on too.
And I also have written versions of some of these works in Spanish.
Thanks for inviting me

Serena Shay (serenashay) | 3 comments Hi, I'm Serena Shay and I write erotic paranormal stories normally, but my Muse has just recently decided I need to try my hand at Erotica. Then, of course, she's whispering something about a YA novel, as well. From one extreme to the next, that's Mz. When I'm not nodding affirmatively to the Muse, I can be found at www.serenashay.com, tweeting @Serena_shay, scouring Goodreads for my next book to read or on my group blog http://shapeshifterseductions.blogspo...

Thanks for the invitation. I'm Sandy Blair, author of Scottish Romance, usually with a paranormal twist.

I'm currently working on my 9th release (THE WARRIOR) after releasing my first two backlists books, THE LAIRD and THE ROGUE, in the Castle Blackstone series set in Medieval Scotland. My heroes tend to be brawny and my heroines feisty.

My new release, THE ACCIDENTAL DUCHESS, is a novella set in Victorian England, but has a Highlander hero. (Yes, I have a weakness for men in kilts. :)

Vonnie Davis (vonnie_davis) | 1 comments I was thrilled to get my invite. What a group of attractive and talented writers you are! I'm retired and my life now revolves around my writing. My drug of choice: Romance. My problem is deciding on which sub-genre. So far I have contemporary, historical and romantic suspense contracted with The Wild Rose Press, six in all. And I'm working on a paranormal, asking myself every chapter what the heck am I doing? So far, the characters are dragging me along for the ride. I'm just taking dictation.

At the moment I mainly write sheikh romances and so far have published The Royal Sheikh and The Desert Sheikh, and next month I'm hoping to publish The Sheikh's Beloved. I've also published a romance set in South America, Her Latin Lover.

Open one of my books and escape on an adventure to an exotic location, because it's easier to buy a book than it is to book an air ticket.
