many of the sayings we use on an every day basis, when you stop and think about them, they don't make any sense! Post some of the strangest here (and try to keep it clean)

How about this one: "Good night, Irene!" used to express shock

"Good golly, Miss Molly!"
Who the heck is Miss Molly, and why am I saying good golly to her?

Also, I'm extremely annoyed with those cliche, "It's a bird! It's a plane!" Why are they so excited about birds and planes?

Smart Aleck...Used when someone is talking back, WHO IS Aleck?!

Being fresh, means the same thing as a smart aleck, when I think of fresh, I think of new or healthy.

one that my grandma uses is "I was tickled to death" whenever she's excited.

"He doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground."
