How did you like this book? What are you thoughts, likes and dislikes?

I have been a David Baldacci fan for many years...and I never missed reading a book he has writen. I have never been disappointed with any of them. I look forward to his new book 'The Hit'.

It was a very enjoyable read. I guess correctly on his female friend, but the ending caught me by surprise.

I liked it much better than Zero Day, his John Puller series, and his stand alones I've read.
I'd rate it higher than those but lower than his King & Maxwell series.

One thing that would have made it better for me is if Robie had defeated the bad guy on his own instead of with help from others.

Was a bit slow for me. The first few chapters were explosive and then there was a lot of story retreading which quickly became extremely tedious.

The puzzles were blatantly obvious (you could tell the twist from a kilometer away) and several plot points made less than zero sense.

All in all, I think it was grossly over rated and as my first baldacchi I think I shall be giving this author a wide berth going forward. Back to Ken Follet and the likes of Sheldon for me.

This was the first Baldacci book I've read. I enjoyed it, at first I was like "ok, we get it you sneak in and kill people" but then it went in another direction. Then it gets to a point were it seems like it'll be wrapping up soon and that's when I got excited because there was still about half a book left. It continues to stay interesting, but yes... some of the angles seem to not really lead anywhere. It was a little predictable but not too predictable. And a little far fetched but not too far fetched.

very good fun. I know he's not Tom Clancy but a tad more research and realism would go along way to make it even better.

Whatever Baldacci writes I buy!!

I know I've really enjoyed a book when I decide to keep it on the shelf after the first read. This one is definitely worth reading again.

Granted, the writing is fast paced and gripping up to the middle. Then, some of the steam leaks out, the story gets balled up in improbabilities and becomes somewhat repetitive. There are too many impossibilities piled on each other. No 14 year old could conceivably speak like Julie, the youngster Robie takes under his wing. There are loose ends in the plot that make no sense. Police, FBI, and terrorists may sometimes be efficient but the level described is simply too far from the field of belief. Robie is a hired killer. Why should we feel the slightest sympathy for him as is insinuated by the story? The stars given this book are over the top.

Mary Ann Arthur, I loved your summary but as a secondary teacher, I can attest to the fact that there are indeed special, unique teens who talk and think like ...more

I too, am a big Baldacci fan, I would suggest if you haven't read "One Summer" you might want to read it. A different take on David Baldacci and very well don.

When a Baldacci book hits the stands I'm there buying one of the first copies. I love the way he creates characters that the reader gets so involved in that they want to read more books with that character for example; Oliver Stone, Sean and Michele and now Robbie. Can't wait for the next one.

I love anything David Baldacci writes, but I wasn't sure about this book when I first started it. But by the time I was just a short way into it, I was thoroughly drawn in and rooting for Robie. This is a terrific story of choices and change. I hope to see Robie again.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was my first Baldacci book but won't be my last.

I really liked this book and since I have read many of Baldacci's books. I have a few favorite characters, like Oliver Stone/John Carr, and Sean King And Michelle Maxwell and now Robie is right up there! So happy to know there is another book with him in it. Looking forward to reading that one too!

I enjoyed this book and excited to see that Robbie will be back in a second book released next month!! I like Baldacci's writing and have read many of his books through the years.

I enjoyed it a lot. I've never read this author until this month with The Innocent, and I was pleasantly surprised by the book. A very well-plotted story with engaging characters. I liked the dynamic between Robie and Julie. It made the book for me.
