I have a very bad feeling about this ...

We certainly did have a tough stretch getting repairs done lately
In questions and answers, to quote Amanda

"There aren't any changes planned for Shelfari as a result of the acquisition."

In a comment, Otis, Good Reads founder/owner compared what happened at Shelfari with the Good Reads situation.
He said something on the order of "shelfari is just 6 people. We're 40 people and hiring as we grow."

LibraryCin | 196 comments My initial thought was - is GoodReads going to go downhill post-amazon, like shelfari did?

Shelfari (regardless of the small number of staff) used to do a really good job of listening to users, fixing things, taking suggestions, etc. Then amazon bought it and it (sadly) went downhill.

Foghorn (foghornleghorn) | 10 comments Goodreads and Shelfari may go downhill but we still have our books to read, let's look at the bright side. If there is one.

LibraryCin | 196 comments I also joined Library Thing last weekend, as another backup! Is anyone else over there?

I'm planning to attempt a shelfari to LT import sometime soon, and I hope it works much better than shelfari to GR...

LibraryCin | 196 comments That is, my attempt at an import from shelfari to GR. I think it worked ok for some people, but for me, if I'm remembering correctly, it only imported less than 100 out of about 1500 books for me here. :-(

Foghorn (foghornleghorn) | 10 comments At LibraryThing, you can only list two hundred books and then you have to pay for it.

I did know that, but thank you. :-) The weekend that Amazon bought Goodreads, LT did a promo where anyone who joined got their first year free (no limit on the number of books). I know I'll probably have to pay after that (if I decide I like it enough to continue), but I don't think it's very much.

I took the promo and a good opportunity to try it out and see if I like it.

Let me know how you like it and would it be worth it to put another shelf on another site.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. It seems I managed to turn off notifications, so I had to think to come to the group to check (do that every day on shelfari, but I don't take the time to do that here!).

So far, I'm liking LT... maybe better than GR. However, for now I'm keeping up with all three sites, and it is a lot to do all three!

One tangible thing I know I like better at LT than here is that I think I can do more of the editing/combining myself, rather than having a librarian (or whatever they call them here) do everything. That's me, though. I'd rather just fix things up without having to ask/wait for someone else to do it@
