Arlene Mcintosh I love J.R Ward so much - her writing is awesome and I love Quinn and Blay together - hot and beautiful. I love the fact that when she writes the book she has other characters involved and you fall in love with those other characters and that is how she gets you hooked because you cannot wait for the next book and the next characters. I fell in love with Sola and I love Layla - I love that you still get to hear about all the brotherhood in her books. It's like a family that I can't get enough off and the characters just keep coming.

I have to agree with you. This was absolutely my favorite book of the series so far. There was a lot of different PoV's but, unlike the novels before, they didn't annoy me to read them. I was intrigued, especially since we got to have a deeper look at Trez and iAm.

If I didn't already love Quinn, this book would have made me fall in love with him. Especially after what he did to Havers. I was grinning from ear to ear and saying "That's right you bastard!" lol The bar scene was my undoing though. To see Quinn, such a tough, strong male, break like that...shit I lost it.

I've heard some comments regarding the book saying that WARDen ruined it by her closing line but I have to disagree. Happily ever after may be cheesy fairy tale stuff but for these two...it fits so perfectly and gives the readers hope. Where they have struggled so hard to get together, now maybe they will finally be happy and content with being together.

I think this book was an absolute masterpiece in every sense of the word. She did Quay justice and I'm so excited about Beth and Wrath getting the next book. I love that she's revisiting the characters! I can't wait for The King. Until then, I believe I will continue to swoon over Blay and Quinn hehe

Whitney xavier when the next coming out

Brandi Whitney wrote: "when the next coming out"

It doesn't come out until next year around this time. That's when she released the BDB books. The King is said to release in spring 2014. The next fallen angels book, Possession, should be out around the end of September this year.

Azb7145 Ms Ward has been steadily writing substandard books since Phury's book, for years now. And it's reviews that just gush over everything she has written that allows her to keep writing this series so badly.

She needs her true fans to point out to her just how badly she has messed up the original BDB premise, the Brothers and their Shellans. She screwed that premise up so badly in Lover Reborn that I will never do another reread of this series.

And the fact that she keeps introducing so many characters in each book and only dedicates a small portion of each book to the main couple is demeaning to her fans.

And she really copped out on Qhuinn and Blay, she seems to have written their love as a teenybopper type romance instead of a love between two males who have been thru hell and back.

I swore to never spend another penny on her books since LoverReborn, and I definitely never will. I borrowed the book from a friend and struggled very hard to even get thru the whole thing.

What a waste of a good series, I now put her in the category of Charlaine Harris who ruined her books by stringing out her story lines too.

Lobna it was amazing I waited a whole year and I was not disappointed :)

If you were so unhappy reading Lover Reborn and you had to force yourself to read Lover at Last, than why did you bother reading them at all? To my way of thinking if you already don't like one book in the series than why keep reading them and post a critical review? I don't think she has messed up the series and I feel like I am a true fan of the BDB also. I love them and to me the series has to grow if we want it to continue so it needs new characters. Lover at Last was well written and expressed both Blay and Qhuinn's feelings and their relationship wonderfully. I enjoy the introduction to new characters and I'm so excited to see where Assail and Sola's journey takes us and Trez and Selena have a great romance waiting and of course the biggest one I'm waiting for is Layla and Xcor! I don't want to sound critical of your opinion, but I just had to post this response.

So totally agree with you Jamie - fantastic book and I consider myself a true fan as I have been reading her books from the beginning and I feel she just keeps getting better and better and her books continue because she introduces new characters in her books. I am not sure why people are being particular harsh on this book. I understand wanting more of Quinn and Blay but she might revisit them in the future as she has done with some of the brotherhood and I love Sola and Assail and cannot wait for their story.

Teen I am not a fan of m/m books and was a bit worried about reading this one. As such, I appreciated her attempt to focus on the relationship building to one of acceptance and honesty to self and each other and not so much on the sexual intimacy (though that was steamy. Even without the lube...Ouchee!). Though, there was a lot of secondary character stuff going on distracting the reader from the main couple, I was OK with that since we have followed this couple and their backstory through several books.

Book Sushi i enjoyed the book but i do agree that it made their romance like a teen ya (without all the steamy moments) it really did not do the justice about saying they will live happily ever after. We all know that there is trouble in the horizon with the brothers vs B.o.B. When i read the last line, i was like, "are you freaking kidding me???" I love the series, i really do. i enjoy the characters and how they are growing but that line just killed me. lol

F.B. I was so dissapointed. There were more of Xcor, Assail, Sola, iAm then there were the 2 main characters.

Qhuinn has gone from a hard ass take no shit guy to a pansy. It's like Qhuinn and Blay reversed rolls.

I've waited years for this book to be written and I was massivly let down. I read it from cover to cover because I am dedicated to the series. But I cant deny I wasnt tempted to put it down nad forget about it.

The last 3 books of the BDB I havnt much enjoyed. Here's hoping the next ones get better again.

Francine, I saw the reversal of roles between the two as a sign of changing times...as a time of Quinn finally breaking down the walls surrounding himself. His hardness was a result of the life he lived and his need to fit in with the glymera and family standards, even if they weren't around anymore. And his becoming softer was a result of him realizing that it didn't matter what others thought as long as he made himself happy. I saw it more of...in a metaphorical way...him coming out of his cocoon so to speak. And Blay getting harder as a result of the way Quinn treated him seemed perfectly normal.

I read the book because I needed a finality to Q/B, and I was not impressed with her treatment of them at all. They deserved better then having their story being only about a third of the book in which they are suppose to be the main topic.

And I have the right to my opinions, just as you have yours. You love what she does, I feel that she has strayed from from her original premise and her style of writing has gotten worse, imo.

I definitely will not read anything else she writes, but I do hope you continue to enjoy her books.

I agree that her last few books are so different, and not in a good way, from her first 5 or 6 books. I cannot figure out why she has moved away from such great storytelling that we saw in the beginning of the BDB books.

I also agree with you both

multitaskingmomma Ever since the first book of the Blackdagger series was written, I was hooked on them. As the series went on, there were times I was disappointed but mostly I was happy with them, especially Zsadist and Bella's book and now Lover At Last.

JR Ward strays from the rest of the humdrum writers out there as she continues to evolve as a writer and in the process makes her work evolve too in terms of character and plot.

I am an avid MM genre fan and this one did not disappoint in the least.

I can't wait for next year!

Erin O'Riordan I don't love the Assail-Sola plotline - I kinda skimmed those pages in a hurry - that part could have been released as a separate short story or in another side novel, in my opinion. Other than those two, I get really wrapped up in some of the secondary characters as much as Qhuinn and Blay (and I REALLY wanted to Qhuay to happen). I need Layla-Xcor to happen, and I have high hopes for a Trez-Selena romance in the works as well.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for the BDB formula. I love those love-at-first sight moments, followed by pages of no-way-in-hell-is-this-going-to-work, and then the sweet release of the happy ending. It's an addictive formula.

Do I wish there was more sensual Qhuay action in the book? Well, of course. If every page was nothing but Qhuinn and Blay's kissing and foreplay and sex, I would still be riveted to this book. That said, I like the story that J.R. Ward told.

I'm not gonna lie - I love how sappy and sweet they got at the end. For most of this book, Blay and Qhuinn are under an extreme amount of stress. (Qhuinn thinks his unborn child is going to die at any moment - that's a heartbreaking situation.) I need them to have that moment where they can relax, completely let their guards down, and just be in love.

And come on - if you don't just adore Blay's mom and dad in this, then I don't know how to help you.

You have to love Blay's mom and dad but I did love Assail and Sola and can,t wait for their story. I hope Xcor grows on me because I am not a big fan but I really want to like him but I find it hard. Love her books.

Montserrat I have read this book about 6 times since I received it on the release date. I love it love it love it. I wish it would continue, I can not get enough of Blay and Quinn. I love all her books. I have read all of them more than once. I just cant find another series that gets me so involved. I cant wait for her next book. Blay and Quinn for ever.

Kelle Francine wrote: "I was so dissapointed. There were more of Xcor, Assail, Sola, iAm then there were the 2 main characters.

Totally agree. Way to many side stories going on and new characters being brought into the series. It felt like an expanded novella.

Lynda Bester You know, writing is not easy, and characters take on a life of their own. You want them to do this...they want to do that, and i feel that letting them do what they think is right, is how it should be. Blay and Qhuinn needed to have the 'bad' so that they could love the good so much more. and it is bittersweet in the end when they come together. For Qhuinn to get in touch with his inner demons, he had to let his walls down, but i dont think that makes him a pussy. i think that makes him stronger, because this time when the walls go back up, Blay is on the inside and that will make their love so much stronger with them both defending those walls. Blay needed to be hardass, he needed to protect his heart until he knew that this time, it was for real, for always. The character change made them stronger, a sort of walk in someone elses shoes, and they are better for that. I loved this book, and read it page to page the first time. Okay so i only read Qhuay the next three read throughs, but i tell myself that's okay cause its there book. i think JRW did a great job, and if the book was exactly like book 1-5, then it would just be a repeat. No. This book did not disapoint. The fact that something doesnt always go as you imagined it would, doesnt mean its wrong. I just hope and pray that please please please, if there are any JRW angles flying around out there eaves dropping, please beg her to put more Qhuay in the next booksssss. And throw in some really tender moments. I know it will take a while for them to get over the OMG IM FINALLY TOUCHING HIM' stage, but once that has passed, some sweet gentle moments (face to face please) will just make my love for them so much stronger. They are just so heart everthing. Pounding, wrenching, melting...sigh. Need i say more? But that said, i do have questions, and hope they will be answered at some point. LOVED IT!!!!! (sorrry re spelling. i suck at it)

Jade Royal This is definitely my favorite book. I'll start with the fact that I read this book first. When I read it I had no knowledge of the other ones. But once I realized it I finished it and started the series from book one. Once I got to this book I reread this book gladly! This was a home run! Grand slam!

Sharanda This was my favorite book in the series. I seriously cried at parts. I cannot wait until the next one.
