She is SO annoying and stupid and mostly I just wanted to throw the book at the wall when it was her point of view.

um.... i disagree with you because Emma is a very responsible girl and she is just confused on what she is doing. Maby she can be a little weird sometimes but that book was the best book i've ever read this year. i think you just have to read the whole thing to understand it better.
I did read the whole thing, but I just think she's annoying. I mean, HOW did she not realize that it's dangerous to meddle with your future? That's like the moral of every time travel story.
Yes! I just wanted her to just--! Instead of complaining all the time sit down and think. She's miserable because she's miserable in the future. If she keeps that up she's never going to be happy. I mean, if she was paying attention she would notice her friend who was a teen mom turned out happier than her. Why do you think that is Emma?
she was a teenager...I mean, I don't know about you guys, but I remember repeatedly making the same mistakes growing up, hoping that the outcome would change
I can understand and sympathize with her. She had the opportunity to see into her future, was unhappy with what she saw and was desperate to try and change it. The only reason that the boy wasn't doing the same exact thing was because he initially liked what he saw and the only reason that he tried to step in was when he saw things that adversely affected him.
I don't know if she's that bad. I was angry at her when she was toying around with Josh's feelings and then never had to really apologize. And it was kind of frustrating how it never occurred to her that her future self might just be a pessimist when it comes to Facebook posts. But beyond that, I just think she's a typical teenage girl who can be immature at times but still tries to be a good person and only has the best intentions at heart.
I didn't hate her but she's definitely not one of my favorites. I was however really impressed with Josh because I tend to like supporting characters best especially if the book is written in the first person, but I really liked Josh's chapters and his character. Emma was alright, but I've read better main female characters.
It's not just you. Emma was dreadful. To be honest I didn't like any of them, but by far she irritated me the most.
Tell me about it! I mean, I probably would have done the same thing, but I'm also kind of a terrible person, so... (JK. Kinda.)Anyway, she messes with Josh's feelings and her life and possibly everyone else's without a second thought (other than for how it will affect her in the future). I just found her annoying and petty.
HOWEVER, I could be misreading her character and misinterpreting the way JA and CM want readers to see her, so I will stay (semi-)open-minded to any other thoughts.

yup, i definitely agree with you! she seemed so manipulative and pretty obsessed with BOYSBOYSBOYSBOYS and i honestly was pretty worn out by her by the end of the book. although i probably would have done the same thing in her situation, i don't blame her.

Thing that would make the book better:Entire thing was from Josh's pov
every character be deeper
josh stay w/ sydney
emma be lonely
Honestly, This book could have been so much better. Both characters were so naive. Emma was always acting like a spoiled rich girl and Josh was acting like more of an adult than she was! She didn't care who she hurt or which future she messed up, she just wanted her future to end up happily. I would not recommend this to anyone. I cant believe I was spending my time on this book.
