The Assassin's discussion

Jane walked along the canal. She had been from France, or at least that was what her 'father' had told her. She groaned at the thought of him and sat down on the edge of the pier, looking at the clear water of the canals.

Alex was wandering around, her arms crossed. She;d just come back from getting paid from a job she'd done the night before. It had been easy, her target had never even known she was there.

Jane looked up, hearing footsteps close to her. It was usually abandoned by this time. But it was her spare time, and she liked spending it by the canals, since it was calm and peaceful. She didn't bother to turn around though, she could react within a second if someone would try to kill her.

Alex saw the other person there but ignored them for now, and besides, if anyone tried anything she could handle herself, she wasn;t worried. She kept walking, none of her daggers visible when looking at her.

Jane shot a glance towards the figure, and noticed it was a girl. Hmm, she thought. Was it an assassin? She wasn't sure.

She still watched the other girl carefully out of the corner of her eye as she walked by. She;d learned not to trust anyone.

"Hey!" she called out to her, wanting to see the girl's reaction. She stood up and turned towards her.

She paused, turning to face the other girl with a raised eyebrow.

Jane did half a grin when she saw her expression. She walked towards her, her arms crossed. "Who are you?" she asked curiously, wondering why she had never seen her before

She narrowed her eyes, a little suspitous. "Alexandria." She answered. "But most call me Alex..."

Jane nodded. "I was wondering if we had met before but I guess we haven't.." she trailed off. She looked at her. "I'm Jane.."

The other girl did look slightly familar...why though she wasn't exactly sure.But she just gave a small nod in reply.

"So... where are you from..?" she asked slowly, trying to find out wheter if this girl was an assassin or not. But they had so many members that she didn't know some of them.

"England." She replied, "but I travel a lot." She said, still trying to figure out how this person was familar.

Jane nodded. "I'm from France, but moved here when I was a child," she said slowly. "Do I know you... from somewhere?"

"I don't know. Do you?" She asked, her eyes narrowing slightly again

Jane shook her head. "No..." she said slowly. "Are you an..." she trailed off, should she just ask?

Alex raised an eyebrow. "An......?"

"Assassin...?" she asked hesitantly, softly, not wanting anybody else to hear.

Alex hesitated a second then gave one small nod, her hands were near the hilts of two of her daggers just in case....

Jane let out a sigh of relief. "Same here. I thought so. I recognised you."

So that's why she'd looked familar....she hesitated a second longer before moving her hands away from the daggers. "Well, there are a lot of us out there."

"I know," she muttered quietly. She then sighed again, smiling slightly. "I'm glad that you're an assassin."

She raised an eyebrow at that. "uh...."

"I'm just glad that I don't need to kill you," she grinned softly.

Alex smirked slightly. "Many have tried....and obviously all have failed."

She laughed softly. "I see. You have weapons there right," she grinned, gesturing towards the hilts.

Alex nodded, only a couple of her daggers were visible the rest completly hidden.

She nodded, hers were all hidden, along with the crossbow on her back. "Uhuh, fancy looking daggers," she commented.

Alex smirked taking one of them out, spinning it in her hand. "I've collected a varity over the years."

Jane smiled slightly, watching her. "Me too, though they have wore out over the years."

"A few of mine have, but if you take care of them a good dagger can last awhile."

Jane nodded. "But I like to buy new ones."

"Why buy them when it's so much more entertaining to steal them?"

Jane laughed. "Well, that's entertaining too, but I don't like to steal, it doesn't seem fair."

Alex just shrugged. She;d had to steal a lot when she was little, it now came natrually to her.

Jane sighed. "Well if it's from the rich..."

"A lot of them have proably stolen, lied and cheated to get to where they were anyway."

"Yeah, that's right," she muttered, looking at the canal.

Alex was silent, also throwing a glance out over the canal. She'd proably stay around here for awhile before moving on to another city.

"So you're from England?" she asked curiously, leaning against a pillar.

She glanced back over at her again, nodding once in reply.

"That's interesting, isn't it cold there?" she asked with a slight smile.

She shrugged. "It can be. You get used it."

She laughed quietly. "I'm used to warm weather though."

"Which would seem strange to me..."

"Because?" she asked curiously.

"Like I said, I'm mpre used to the cold." She shrugged

She laughed softly. "Yeah well.. I don't like rain.." she shivered at the thought. "I can only remember the sun."
