AngryGreyCat (angrygreycatreads) | 554 comments Earthly Delights (Corinna Chapman, #1) by Kerry Greenwood I don't know if this will qualify - author educated in England but based out of Australia. This book in the series is currently free on Amazon.

Baking is an alchemical process for Corinna Chapman. At four am she starts work at Earthly Delights, her bakery in Calico Alley.
But one morning Corinna receives a threatening note saying 'The wages of sin is death' and finds a syringe in her cat's paw. A blue-faced junkie has collapsed in the dark alley and a mysterious man with beautiful eyes appears with a plan for Corinna and her bread. Then it is Goths, dead drug addicts, witchcraft, a homeless boy and a missing girl and it seems she will never get those muffins cooked in time.
With flair, chutzpah and a talent for kneading, Corinna Chapman will find out who exactly is threatening her life and bake some beautiful bread.
'Greenwood provides us with lavish helpings of the ingredients essential to good popular fiction: food, frocks, furnishings and some essential frolicks beneath the sheets' - Sydney Morning Herald on Murder in Montparnasse

Florence Millo Leaving Everything Most Loved

How about Jacqueline Winspear's new Maisie Dobbs mystery?

message 3: by Florence (new)

Florence Millo It is available in hardback, paperback large print, Kindle, and Audible through amazon.com. Since it is so new, we may want to wait a while until it is available through libraries or when used copies are available at a lower price.

I'll go with Susan Hill's The Various Haunts of Men. (Simon Serrailler #1)

Kathy (kathymh) | 34 comments Leaving Everything Most Loved. is available in eBook format as said previously, but is not really a good stand alone. Much of it develops the journey of the individual characters already introduced. I would say, try an earlier Mouse Dobbs novel for the group.

That really is odd. I have it on my Kindle and I bought it through amazon.com. And when I look on amazon.com, I see hardback, large print paperback, Kindle, and Audible. Since there seems to be problems with it, we can always read it in the future or on our own.

Susie Fiorito (tudordaughter) | 15 comments I voted!! They all looked pretty good to me, but there were two stand outs. Thanks David for doing such a fine job!
