ADelaide walked into the bakery after Jess, smelling all the delicous bread aromas. She couldnt help but glance at what expression Jess had on. ADelaide had always loved bread, and she wanted to know what Jess thought of it.
Askeli grabbed a loaf of french bread, a box of blueberry muffins, and a doughnut. Hey, students were cheap. And she had to get her doughnuts..
Adelaide sniffed at the bread several times, each time loving the scent of newly baked bread, donughts, and muffins.
"Sure. I will have some of those blueberry muffins, please." she asked the manager across the counter. He grabbed a sack of warm blueberry muffins and handed them to Adelaide as she handed him the money. "What are you getting? I just have to have my blueberry muffings!"
Caspian strode into the bakery zipping up his black leather jacket as he went up to the counter. He licked his fangs as he felt all of the blood around him pulsing through veins. He retracted his fangs deciding to get some human food for a change. "Ill have one of those raspberry filled donuts," he laughed a little a joke that was floating around inside his head.
Travis walked into the bakery with his little sister on his shoulders. "Hey Mitty my kitty, we are here." He murmured, tapping her foot to wake her up. Mitty woke up, dreary eyed and floppy. "Ok." She muttered, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. He gently slipped her off of his shoulders and put her down. "You said you were hungry so what would you like to get, you can have anything you like, my treat." He smiled, causing his sister to brighten up immensely. She rushed to the counter, eyeing all the treats, pointing to a big slice of chocolate cake. Travis rolled his eyes, her and her sweet tooth. "Alright, alright." He chuckled, getting out his wallet.
Caspian paid for the donut and walked over to the only empty table by the window grimacing at the little girl who ran up next to him. He bit into the soft pasty letting his fangs suck out the jelly. He flipped out his cell phone sending Jewel a text letting her know where he was, even though he knows she doesn't care. After finishing his donut he takes a drink of the coffee he had bought before coming here.
Mitty sensed something dark and ominous, glancing over at Caspian. She ran to her brothers side and tugged on his sleeve as he finished paying for her piece of cake and his muffin. He stuck the change in his pocket, kneeling down to his sisters level. "Hey what's the matter?" He asked as she pointed to Caspian, shaking her head. "Hey it's ok, there's nothing bad here, he's just your everyday citizen." He reassured his sister. "Here this is yours." He smiled as they went to sit down and enjoy their snack.
Caspian chuckled to himself as the girl pointed at him. He shook his head and then opened a book about guitars that he had stuffed in one of his pockets from home. While reading it he took drinks of his coffee every now and then peering over the top to see if anyone new came in. Caspian tapped his foot as music from an overhead speaker played music quietly but loud enough for him to notice it.
Mitty dug into her cake happy that she had some grub to settle her empty stomach. She noticed Caspian looking at them and felt a cold chill run down her spine. She tugged at her brothers sleeve again, worried about the man. She pointed at Caspian again. Travis frowned, glancing over at Caspian. "Mitty, it's rude to point, enjoy your cake really everything is fine." He reassured. "How about aft this we go find a park to play in?" He asked, which she smiled at. He felt sorry for his sister being unable to speak in public.
Jewel walked into the bakery and waved at Caspian as she walked up to the counter. She ordered a raspberry filled donut and a hazelnut coffee then went to sit by Caspian. "How's your day been?" she asked him flipping her hair to the left."Fine," he mutters starting to read his book again.
"Okay, Mr. Grumpypants," she laughs sticking her fangs into the donut.
Mitty's eyes widened and she tugged at her brothers sleeve again, pointing at the girl in fright. Travis sighed and glanced over at the newcomer, spotting the fangs. Crap. He pulled his sister closer. "It's ok kitten, nothing bad is going to happen." He whispered. "Don't stare and just finish your cake ok." He smiled, ruffling her hair. "If you want we can go enjoy our treats in the park? Would that make you feel better?" He asked and she gave a solid nod.
Once she finishes the donut she wipes the raspberry filling off of her lips with a napkin. While tapping her fingers against the table she starts thinking of ways to irritate Caspian because he was always fun to mess with. She playfully kicks Caspian under the table and laughs while combing through her hair with her fingers. "Knock it off," Caspian growled.
"Whatever," Jewel stuck her tongue out at him and applied more lipstick to her lips since some of it had rubbed off. Then she kicks him once more under the table but this time harder.
"I said knock it off!" he yells flipping the table over spilling coffee all over Jewels dress.
"That wasn't very nice," Jewel groaned trying to dab the coffee stain with a napkin.
Mitty gave a short cry of fear, clinging to her brother tightly. Travis held her tightly and kissed the top of her head. "It's going to be ok kitten." He picked her up, daring to go over to the two vampires. "Excuse me I don't mean to pry, but do you mind keeping it down, your scaring my sister." He told them with a friendly smile. "It would be greatly appreciated, thank you." He murmured, going back to his table to gather their food. If they stayed any longer a tale might not be the only thing that got flipped.
"I'm sorry," Jewel said to the guy, "we didn't mean to frighten your daughter." She smiled sweetly at the little girl and waved politely. Had she noticed the little girl she wouldn't have messed with Caspian."The hell you are," Caspian hissed at Jewel, "we don't apologize especially to the likes of him." Caspian didn't like it when Jewel talked to any guys except him no matter what the meaning of the conversation. He glared daggers at the guy and his little girl daring them do to something.
Travis had to smile. "Thank you, but she is my sister, not my daughter, although I'd be happy to have a daughter like her someday." He chuckled, but Mitty pressed her face into her brothers chest, scared of the devil lady. Her emotions were an odd red with black edges, an ugly colour. He could tell that things were about to get ugly if he didn't leave. "But I suppose I asked wrongly of you, my sisters getting tired anyway and I have to get her to bed, but thank you anyway, maybe we will see you around some time." He smiled, collecting their treats before giving a wave of leave to them, hoping to escape unscathed.
"I hope so," Jewel smiled brushing back some of her bangs while she picked the table back up. Afterwards she stood up straight and waved to him as he inched closer to the exit."You wont be seeing him again that's for sure, because I wont allow it," Caspian growled loudly and furiously while chucking his still hot coffee towards the guy. He missed them by a couple of inches which only fueled his hate fire towards them. "You better hope I don't see you again!" he hissed.
"Knock it off," Jewel rolled her eyes at Caspian and gave the guy an apologetic smile.
Travis flinched at the image of hot coffee spilling over them, moving his sister around to rest against his hip and block her from the coffee, but thankfully it never landed. "Uh ok?" He questioned the mans sanity but said nothing of it, waving good bye to the girl out of hospitality, pushing through the door and out onto the street. Mitty was shaking. "Hey now it's ok, I promise, you know I'd never let anyone hurt you." He smiled down at his sister, letting her down as he took her hand. "Come on, how about once we get to the park, first one on the swings gets the others treat?" He asked, making Mitty smile, trying her best to drag her brother along to the park, eager to get going. Travis just hoped they never did run into the loon back there.
Arch was starved and more than a little peeved. He was too worldly and mature to be bothered with some little snotty-nosed roomate and here he was begging for one. Wait until he got the little creep on the Rugby pitch, he'd whip the tar out of him. The distaff side seemed conspiculously absent tonight, thought they all liked tea and crumpets before bed. Well it wasn't the first nor likely the last night he'd have to spend alone in the forest.
Good thing this bakery didn't rely on students for support, it was dead, Arch reflected as he ordered a pecan danish and took a table by the window. He hoped the beautiful wolf, Lena, would show, but he couldn't quite get a handle on her. No doubt she was a dangerous adversary, but how did she view him? He didn't think she wanted to do him harm, but wasn't sure. Matter of fact, he wasn't sure of his own feelings. He'd come here to recuperate and get his powers up to full potential after a particularly nasty adventure for Her Majesty's clandestine unit, not fall under the influence of a supernaturally gifted babe. Oh well, life sometimes took odd little turns and maybe this was one of them.
Lena strides in holding a bag. She walks over to Arch. "You wanted to trade." Lena gestured to her black bag holding swords guns and a knife.
"I do not need any thing. You can chose what you want from the weapons." Lena says looking around for people. No one there luckly.
"No, we exchange willingly. symbolic that we won't attack one another unprovoked." Arch explained, "besides I have a weapon you might like = belonged to my dead mother, a particularly skilled witch.*
Lena reaches in and pulls out a silver sword with her blood and Josh's blood in it so the can not be harmed by the silver. She kept her special sword that Josh and her made at home.
"Real silver and recently used, I see," Arch observed, "does it possess any special powers I should know about."
"That's fine, If I ever want to do away my rival, I'll use some other method," Arch joked, "now hold out your wrist."
Arch takes out a beutifully bejewelled woman's watch with a special, highly stretchable band and places it on Lena's wrist.
"When the alarm and the time are all aligned at midnight, you can render anyone you want, but me," Arch laughs, "unconscious for about 15 minutes."
"I know you're kind of bloodthirsty, Lena, but sometimes it's good to dispose of someone temporarily without making a mess."
"I would never harm any human! Only when they attack me!" Lena snaps angrily at what he said ready to attack.
"Calm down, young lady, we have a pact now, and you possess a new power werewolves typically don't have."
"Before tonight you couldn't knock anybody out for awhile, now you can = at the very least it'll be a great party trick."
"Now, what to do with this sword," Arch reflected, "It's beautiful and deadly, but I need to cast spells with it."
