I love Snape and Lily! I didn't like James, I thought he was a bully, and I wish Lily would have ended up with Snape, although then there wouldn't have been a series... But it's just so sad!

Snilly? Makes me think of Sniffy. I feel so bad for Snape, but I, like Rachel, have Jily as my HP ship...or at least one of them.

I really hated James in the 5th book, but then he slowly grew on me as did Jily as a ship (mostly thanks to fan fiction). I feel like James was a bit of a bully, but he grew out of it in his later years. I wish Snape and Lily could have stayed friends, but sadly that didn't happen. So even though I love Jily, I agree with Rachel. I feel bad for Snape.

Snily?! I never even thought of their relationship like that. Jily, Snily. I'm not big on Snily. Poor Snape needed a real friend and he totally ruined the relationship he had with Lily.

No, Lily ruined the relationship by not forgiving Severus! He was embarrassed so it sort of slipped out. She didn't forgive him, even though he said he was sorry. I don't think that is right. It was clearly a accident and apparently Lily didn't see that.

I actually really agree. Lily was just too stubborn about that. I understand her being mad at him, I think any Muggle born would be. But I don't get why she couldn't eventually forgive him and at least become his friend again.

People keep forgetting that Snape calling Lily a Mudblood isn't the main reason they broke friends. That was just the last straw. In the Prince's Tale, we learn he had Death Eater friends and was dabbling in the Dark Arts. Calling her a Mudblood was probably what convinced her that her best friend was in too deep.

The more I read and the farther I'm getting in the Harry Potter books, I really can't see why some people hate Snape? If you haven't read all of the books then maybe, but even just reading a couple of them. How can you not feel bad for Snape and like him? He is my favorite out of all of the characters.

I feel the exact same way! Snape is an amazing character with good growth and depth if you ask me and I don't get why anyone would really hate him.
