Hi, Ami and Serena,Ami, your book sounds like it would be good. If you need newbie tips, I share some on my blog. If you're interested I'll give you the site. I learned a lot from publishing my first book, and there is soooo much to learn, but first, really, just write it before worrying about anything else. Then the real work begins. :)
Serena, I've just begun a course on copywriting, not editing, through Writers Digest. Hoping for something I can do from home so U can be around to help take care of my aging parents. I also have another book I want to make a Christian one, so I may be asking for a beta reader also. Good to talk to you both. I was getting lonely. I don't know who else is on here or if they gave up, but I'm happy to see some action.
I think so too. Maybe we can revive it. My links are:www.sci-fi-lite.com

I've put links to other helpful blogs on there too.
Have you heard of OnePlace or Bible Tools online? I use them both for bible study.
It's just handy for me since I feel like I'm on the computer all the time and it comes to my email so it helps me keep a daily schedule of starting the day the right way.
Great sermon today. I love our church. I'm not heavily involved but I just signed up to volunteer so maybe I'll meet some people. How cool is this? Instead of building the church building first,(we meet in an auditorium now) they are making a walking trail around the property so the community can use it. I'm so excited!
Ami, sounds interesting! I sent you my email address for the summary.Donna, let me know if/when you need a beta reader; I'd be happy to read your book as well!
I'm glad this group is starting to show some life :)
We need to get some other folks on here too, but it's good to start with just a couple I can get to know a little. I will probably need a beta reader soon. I had to stop and begin again because I just learned about tag lines and action beats which I knew nothing about and had too many, so I will address that on my next Newbie mistake on the blog. Always things to learn. Serena, do find that since doing copyediting that you have a harder time reading books because you're always wanting to edit or improve them? I am involved with this copywriting program and my mind is constantly critiquing everything I read. errrr
Actually, what little experience I have copyediting is in journalism, so reading books is still a leisurely activity for me. :) I am occasionally interrupted by an un-ignorable (there's an actual word for that, but it's currently evading me) detail that could be improved, but oftentimes I'm too enwrapped in the story to notice.I do find atrocities in emails, though, and I can hardly read a newspaper without giving in to a fit of giggles or sputtering in disbelief. I almost sent my resume to one publication after reading an impossible amount of errors that could only mean they lacked a copy editor.

But before I sign myself away on something entirely unknown, what is your book about?
