117 chapters! But, Patterson's chapters are usually short - generally only 2 to 3 pages each. 23 chapters a day would take us through Friday.
I've read the whole Alex Cross series up through the last two books (I think there are 18 now). They were just getting too similar to keep my interest. I've read a few others of his, too.
It's actually not longer than any of the others...only about 350 pages which is about normal. It's just that the chapters are really short. 23 chapters should only be around 70 pages.
Oooh...I'm not even very far in and it's already good. I think I'm on chapter 12. I have to start working now though.
It is juicy. "What a tangled web we weave, When we practice to deceive."
She catches her husband lying and cheating so she decides to cheat too. Not a good idea. WTH! Her husband kills her lover and is she going to cover it up? It is going to be hard not to go really far over I am already on part 2.

I know...I would be still listening if I hadn't had to start working :/ I should be done early today, though, so I should have time later this afternoon or evening.
Patterson has some good movies, too...Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider are both part of the Alex Cross series and were really good. I haven't seen the newest movie, Alex Cross.
I haven't seen any of his movies. I need to read the books than watch the movies.
I am on part 3 and I really don't want to stop. She is getting herself in deeper and deeper.
I wouldn't mind reading some of his other books.

I'm on part 2. She should have just turned him it! This is really good. I can't wait until she talks to her husband.
Yes, she should have turned him in. The lover was cheating too. He had three kids. What is up with that?
Why cheat? If you are not happy with your spouse/lover leave them.

I listened through the end of part 2.
She is so getting caught. There is no way she's not. Her husband didn't even know she was there! What the heck...he just decided to go beat this guy up because of some emails? Crazy.

He decided to beat him up but with a golf club. That's extreme! He had some nerve anyway. What about his blond chic?
I think what I like about this book is there is not the usual mystery - other than if she is going to get caught, of course. We know who did it and why, now they just have to not get caught. That's not a process we are usually taken through as the reader. However, I am expecting some sort of twist towards the end, maybe in motive or something.
So much is happening and everything you think you know is not what it seems. Loving the book so far!
Side note: I think I just successfully sent a broadcast message without any errors. YAY!

WOW! This book just took another turn. I didn't see this one coming or for that matter any of the other turns. How is she going to get out of this one?
I don't know who to root for. She didn't kill Scott but covered up that Paul did it. This whole thing is snowballing.
I'm sorry but I had to go over. Every time I tried to stop something else would happen and I had to see how it turned out. I am on part 5 and will finish today. I am loving this book!

Yeah, she's surprising me...I just finished the part where her and her partner were talking and he found the phone records.
She keeps getting herself in deeper and deeper. Did you read the part where she goes to Paul's house to deliver his personal effects to his wife? Awkward and enlightening.

No...just where she delivered the news of his death.
No...just where she delivered the news of his death.
I couldn't believe when I heard that. She had the affair because she thought he was having an affair. Now Scott is dead killed by Paul and Paul doesn't know that she is covering it up for him.
This would make a great movie!

I'm at the end of part three but have to work now so no more for today...I will let you know when I finish so we can discuss!
It was funny because through the whole book you are led to believe you know exactly what is going on...but then all these twists and turns get thrown at you. Crazy.
I was surprised she had sent money to Scott's family and not Paul's other family. Maybe she thought Veronica didn't deserve it.
Scott had many secrets and so did Paul. Neither of them were good and used her to get what they wanted. What she did was wrong but at least she was trying to protect everyone involved.
I really like Patterson's Alex Cross Series...up until books 12+. Then I got bored with them. But the first ones were great - all 4 or 5 stars. Besides those books, I've only read a couple others of his. There was only one I didn't like at all. I have most of his books on my to-read list, so we can throw them into buddy reads whenever.
I won't have time for another one this week. I have a review one I need to read by Friday for a blog tour.
Alyssia should be back next week...do you want to read

I guess that's true. She did get half the stolen money.
I'll message Alyssia and see if she will be back Monday. I think her tests are done this week.
