Sophie (warpedline) | 40 comments THEY NEED TO GET THE PERFECT WILL- I WILL DIE IF THEY DONT BECAUSE WILL IS AMAZING AND IF HE ISNT RIGHT IM GONNA-
*has heart attack and dies*

Same as you, I really need them to cast someone who can pull off Will. Like, if they give Will brown hair instead of dark brown/almost black, or he is average height instead of tall, or if he isn't darkly handsome, or, or, or-
*dies a second time*

I can't think about this. I think I'll hyperventilate :(

Lets just cross our fingers and hope for the best :)

Brittany This may sound horrible but...I don't really want a movie. I mean if they can pull it off, sure (obviously, I know that I'd have to wait until they actually did the movie to see if they could pull it off). But I feel it would be a very hard movie to do correctly. A fantasy story set in Victorian England, that's HARD to put into a movie itself. Add the Will/Tessa/Jem relationship and I feel it'll be like Twilight all over again and "Team Jem" or "Team Will" will take over.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just hesitant about it because I don't want them to ruin what's in my head. It was the same with HP and Twilight. But I don't think I could stand behind it until they "proved" themselves. That's not to say that I wouldn't go see it because I definitely would (who knows, they could prove me wrong and make an excellent movie). I know how movies work and I know things change and storylines are added or taken away but it's such a beautiful story already; I don't want them to twist it just to fit it to a movie.

Yes, exactly~

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 12 comments They just better not twist everything and change too much, plus i want classic Will funny moments, and I want a good actor to play Jem and for bloody hells sake if they change anything big, like the ending or a characters existence i will be so pissed off xxx Do want to see it though, especially for Jem and Will moments.

Do you think they'll make the Infernal Devices into just one movie where everything happens or actually do all three? x

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 12 comments I wish they'd film it over here in England, but they probably won't. To be fair other victorian style films have been pretty good x

When I first saw this thread I thought it was about TMI! Now they're doing another movie for TID? I'm going to shoot someone!

message 13: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (Firstly, forgive me, I'm on my phone so I can't quote or directly reply to someone)
I think they're planning on making three separate movies. Though, I'm not sure the story lends itself to three movies. I think the CA and CP movies would end up being terribly dull compared to the CP2 movie. They're not like LotR or HP where something huge and magnificent and action-y happens in each book. CA and CP lead up to the big things that happen in CP2. So movie-wise, I think it would be smarter to shove it all in one. But, if they did that, it would follow that more small storylines and little details would have to be omitted. And being a huge fan of the book, I wouldn't want that.

Athena (bookwormathena) | 3 comments Sarah wrote: "OMG YOU GUYS THEY'RE STARTING ON MAKING A MOVIE FOR THE CLOCKWORK ANGEL!!!!!! http://tmisource.com/2013/04/12/tid-m......"

Totally agree. JCB pops up every time when I read the TMI. The casts are very important. I blamed myself for watching the trailor. My imagine of Jace disappeared.
As the plot,I just hope that they can stick to the book. Hope them don't change too much.

message 15: by Brittany (new)

Brittany That's true; if they do the battle scenes well then the two movies would definitely be more exciting. And I really hope they don't leave out too many details. I think all the little details really fills out TID and makes the story truly beautiful.

Maisie (iammaisiee) | 6 comments I think Joshua Brand should be Will and Anthony Neely should be Jem

message 22: by Petra (new)

Petra | 3 comments I hate the idea of Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace. I imagined him absolutely different and maybe that's the reason I have my fantasy of him still in my head. I can say this about every character, but Simon and Clary's mom. I never could completely imagine these two characters and Robert Sheehan and Lena Headey make perfect match to me. But enough of TMI.
I love the idea of City of bones as a film, but I can't say this about Clockwork Angel. I am a bit worried. Worried, that they are gonna pick wrong actors. I don't mind about Will, I never actually liked him and not even imagined his detail face or body (well..body maybe). But Tessa? I don't know an actress who could play Tessa. They would have to pick some girl from the street, who is as ordinary and normal as I imagined Tessa. But mostly...Jem? How could anyone look like Jem?! That's just impossible.

message 23: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 14 comments I agree , I heard that Anthony nely is gonna play him and I can sort of see him playing Jem but I also wouldn't really pick him to play Jem

I don't think anyone can look like Jem either, that's one of the reasons why I liked him so much. He was different, no one could be compared to him. And about Tessa... the only actress I can picture as Tessa is Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey. I've always thought that and when I started to see pictures of her as Tessa in Tumblr I was shocked, in a good way. I've seen El sexo de los angeles (''The sex of the angels'' I thinks thats the traslation) and she plays a perfect normal girl, at least in this time.

But in general, I don't like the idea of a Clockwork Angel movie, just like I don't really like any movie that ir based on a book. I honestly think it destroys the book and besides, it creates new ''fans'' that I usually wanna punch in the face... TT

Yeah, Jem is just different and nobody can be like him, not even in my imagination. Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey would be a good Tessa, but not perfect. I don´t know, I guess I will never be satisfied. But the main reason I´m worried about TID and TMI as movies, is that the movie usually makes the book look shitty.

Will and Jem would be different for everybody, I mean from how they're described in the books to real life, whoever is cast they're not gonna satisfy everyone.

I totally agree about it maybe ending up like a Twilight-scenario, and I don't think I would stand watching it if so. Books like these are just too amazing to be created into a movie in my opinion.

Drew | 5 comments Petra wrote: "I hate the idea of Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace. I imagined him absolutely different and maybe that's the reason I have my fantasy of him still in my head. I can say this about every character, but..."

You seriously took the words out of my mouth. Even though I could imagine Will as extremely handsome, I really liked Jem more throughout the books. It will definitely be hard to cast actors for our main characters.

message 32: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Just reading through the "Tessa and Will or Tessa and Jem" discussion here makes me wary. If the fandom is already following the 'teams' trend, what's going to happen when/if the movie comes? I think that might ruin it for me, no matter who plays whatever character.

Julia Griffis - The Romance Bibliophile (theromancebibliophile) I'm happy yet depressed that they are making TID into a movie. I love the books, so I'm thrilled to see it on screen, however, I don't want the actors to diminish my view of how I imagine what each character looks like. I can only pray that they find a perfect Will and Tessa, otherwise I will be sorely disappointed! Once I saw the City of Bones trailer, I, too, had a hard time picturing what I remembered the book characters looked like. So to say the least, I'm skeptical about how the TID movie will turn out. I'm praying and hoping for the best!

Petra | 3 comments Drew wrote: "Petra wrote: "I hate the idea of Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace. I don´t like this "team" thing either, but I guess it´s part of every book including "love triangle". So I wouldn´t be upset with it. I think it´s natural to choose the one who do you want to end up with Tessa. I did too, and maybe that makes me stupid fangirl, but I can´t simply imagine reading those books without choosing sides. I liked Jem and Will too, but I wanted only one of them to end up with her. And maybe the film will make things worse, bit I wouldn´t bother with thinking about movie when you can think about books. :D

I love Douglas Booth for Will.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

I like Nicholas Hoult possibly for Will, but Jem will be the hardest to cast.

message 37: by Renee (new)

Renee OMG I JUST SAW THIS!!! OMG ARE YOU FOR REAL!?!?!?! OMG AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN????? OMG OMG OMG OMG WHY DIDN'T I KNOW ABOUT THIS!?!?!
OMG WILL JEM AND TESSA!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

message 38: by Neha (new)

Neha (nehalicious69) | 22 comments Douglas Booth isn't that bad though his hair should be a bit darker since that is the way I would imagine the perfect Will. And OMG, OMG, OMG the movie of Clockwork Angel has to be epic because if the characters aren't like I imagined I am going to be angrier than a raging bull. And the plot has to be just like the book because I get annoyed sometimes when they change the real plot around to make it more 'interesting.'

And just like Will has to be perfect so does Jem because even though I like Will more he is so no less.

OMG! I can't wait till the real cast!!!!!!!!!

OMG I AM SOO EXCITED I THINK I'M GOING TO JUMP THROUGH THE ROOF!!!!!

message 48: by Eliza (last edited Jul 16, 2013 06:20AM) (new)

Eliza Gravedoni Well the actors don't change how i imagine the character of the book, so i guess i'm lucky, when i reed the book i think about the book and how cassandra describe the charactes. And about how hot shout have been Jace in the movie, i like Jamie, cus he's a good actor, so i prefer a good actor before a good looking one, but of course if he's hot i'd like better the movie.
The nice thing i'll like to do is not compeare the movie with the book because they are a diferent thing, but i can't help it.

message 49: by Krissie (new)

Krissie (infernal_stars) | 18 comments I agree with you. My first thought was that they should spend their money making TID movies rather than TMI books because I felt that the story was better, but the story's so good on paper, I'm now afraid it would be butchered. TID is just one of those things you can only feel if you read it. Words and declarations are such a powerful part of it, and the characters feel so "sacred" to me, I'm afraid the writers would cut out some of the best parts. If they actually end up making the movie, I would go and see it, but with hesitation that they wouldn't do it justice. Then again, books and movies ARE meant to be different, it's just tough making the transition from one to the other.
