For the year of 2013 I would like to explore the written works of classic authors. Authors such as J.R.R Tolkien, Charles Dickens, C.S. Lewis and even Oscar Wilde are examples of such famous, classic authors. I would like to read them because of two reasons, the two being: it helps with literature and future english wider reading in school and I find classic books interesting because of the insight they give into another person's life/lives in another period of time.

Sounds good, Robert. You might like to extend to different styles or formats as well for comparison, maybe poetic as in the Greek epics of Homer. We have, in our library collection, graphic editions of some of the classics.

For this coming year, I would like to concentrate on reading classic books by authors such as what Robert has listed, and I would like to continue to read more plays by Shakespeare. Titles such as Hamlet, Henry IV, V, VI, and Richard III are all plays that I would like to complete this year.
The main reason I want to do so is because I find that Shakespeare's language is very interesting, and it is a challenge to read, which is what I am looking for. I have always had an interest in books written by classical authors, and I want to continue reading these.

This year, my reading goal is to read all of Rick Riordan's books. This is because Rick Riordan is my favourite author and all of his books are interesting to read. When I have finish reading all of his books, I will start looking for other interesting mythology books and maybe some fantasy books along the way as well.

Sounds good, Dominic, you might like to venture into our library’s graphic novel editions of some of Shakespeare’s works to contrast styles. You can learn a lot about language use & writing styles by reading the classics.

I think Riordan has re-introduced many readers to classical mythology, and there are many great books for you to try, both contemporary and classic. Enjoy.

For 2013, I wish to read all the CHERUB and Henderson's Boys books. They are full of mystery,history, adventure, action and bits of romance. The author, Robert Muchamore, contrasts scenes like Shakespeare, and he uses it to great effect. He makes the chapter end at the most climatic scene, and then switches to another scene, making you want to continue reading so you know what happens. I believe it is a very strong technique and wish to incorporate it into my wrting.

For this year. I would like to read a larger variety of reading material, extending to magazines such as national geographic.

This year, I want to read 20 books in total. I am not really focused on a genre or series yet, but I would like to read some more classical works, as well as some sci-fi novels. I might also be interested in reading graphic novels, as they are a genre that seems quite popular that I have not explored yet.

For this year, I think I should read more mystery and detective books by sir Conan Doyle and agatha christie. Their books are very interesting and.also satisfy my thirst for mystery and suspense. Many of the scenes in books like "a study in scarlet" have suspense and is more the reason why I am reading these type of books.

Sounds good Jeffery, you'll find a large variety of reading here at school, and you might enjoy taking recommendations from your classmates

Great to see you wanting to read a range of genres, this is a good year to experiment and find different styles to enjoy

This semester I would like to: become more active in my reading, read a variety of genres and frequently read the newspaper. I aim to read about 10 books by the end of this semester.

Overall, my goal is to read a book every month, I enjoy genres such as fantasy, sci-fi and triller. Although I have not read many classics, I would like to read more such as 'The Great Gatsby'. Currently, I am reading The Hobbit and I am enjoying it. Expanding my reading genres is also a goal for me.

I have not really reached my wider reading goal. I have only read one nay geo magazine this entire year. Therefore, this term, I wish to read a wider range of material but also more fictional books. I aim to read at least 3books a month.

My goal this year is to try to read at least twenty books from varying genres. I would like to read some fantasy as well as a bit of non fiction, overall I would just like to spread my reading

Goals and evaluation
At the beginning of the year my goal stood at reading 12 books this year. My aim was to take down one book per month and so far that has been slightly unsuccessful. I have read 6 books but not in one month periods. I've ranged from 3 months to 3 days depending on my fascination with the book. Through the first half of the year, my focus has been on the fantasy/adventure genre but in the coming months I am looking into a bit of poetry, historical accounts as well as retaining my interest in fantasy.

Continuing on to my evaluation of my reading goal post, I have changed my perspective of reading entirely. That is, rather than finishing a book and moving straight onto another, I am now getting into the habit of analyzing the book more closely, from researching the author's background, to studying the context in which the novel was written in. I feel that if I can do these things, it will allow me to enjoy the book more thoroughly than if I took it for what it is.
However, my reading goal still stands at 20 books for the year, as I feel that this is a realistic and achievable goal to have. As for my goal on only reading Shakespeare, I have made an alteration, that is, to read more classical books from a wide range of different authors.

My personal reading goal for this semester is to read at least graphic novel, one classic and one modern all while reading at least 10 books. I'm not sure if I will be able to achieve this however I will do my best. I might look into reading Maus, a Andy Mcnab book and maybe Pride and Predijuce.
