Whiskey Beach
I picked up the book after dropping my kids at school this morning. I've only read a few pages but am drawn into the story already. I LOVE Nora's ability to set the scene in such a seemingly effortless way.
Just picked it up at the library. While I was there, I was able to put a hold on Thankless in Death and Dark Witch. Yay!
I can tell I won't be getting much sleep tonight! The Whiskey will be keeping me up ;)

I had to take 'Whiskey Beach' back to B&N because the tiny print was killing my eyes. LOL I have now downloaded it to my Nook and it is charging. So hopefully I'll get a nice chunk of the book actually read tonight.
How are you all enjoying the book so far?

I actually bought my copy today, I saw it in the store on sale, it was gorgeous, and couldn't resist! Hopefully my eyes won't have too hard a time adjusting back to print from so many months of Kindle.
I had to put on my reading glasses as I am also used to the larger print on the kindle...and when did books get so heavy? ??
As for the book, one of the main characters is a massage therapist (like me!) And I'm enjoying that. I'm about 10 chapters in and am really enjoying it. Nora sure has a way of painting a picture with words.

I'm about a third of the way through the book and loving it so much! My heart really aches for Eli and I'm enjoying seeing him gain strength - emotionally and physically - again. And Abra, she cracks me up! I love her calm but take-charge approach to life. I'm looking forward to her backstory.
I envy you guys...unfortunately I'm going to have to wait a few more days before I'm able to read it.

I had this one pre-ordered on my Kindle...I've started it, but haven't gotten that far in it yet...
I just finished the book. Read it on my nook so it would be easier on my eyes lol. I love Nora Roberts, this is a wonderful book and I love the twist on the whodunit. I loved Eli's journey in finding the truth and Abra is truly a heroine in my eyes. I loved this book. 5 stars definitely!
I finished Whiskey Beach a couple of days ago. I really loved the story and Eli and Abra. Their journey was beautiful to experience. I haven't been able to start another book because I keep thinking about this one and how the characters overcame so much in order to get their HEA. Does this happen to any of you?
Half way thru...and loving it. It's liking coming home when I pick up a NR book.Love Eli & Abra..she's totally amazing.I so want to be her friend!!
:)
I am on page 119, and I love it! Eli is just such a solid good character, and I loves Abra's warmth and free spirit.
I feel bad for both Eli and Abra and I admire them for being strong individuals; especially Abra. :)
I love this book too! Alex, your comment about wanting to be friends with Abra made me laugh because I want that too. I always think of characters in terms of how I'd get along with them in real life. :)
Isn't that part great, Talya. Then, when Abra was drawing a picture about it I nearly spit my drink laughing.
Finished Whiskey Beach last night. LOVED IT!!! It was classic NR. Almost as good as some of her earlier books that I loved so much and included great character studies that I think have been missing from a few of her newer ones. (Not that I haven't loved them all anyway!) Loved the romance and suspense and the setting was perfect. Wish I had Bluff House on the Beach!!!! Sounds beautiful!!!!
Oh Sheery it was great, I was chuckling so much when Abra and Eli realized what happened, then later when she drew the picture for Maureen.
I wish there was a place like Bluff House too, sounds beautiful and full of old stories, and who doesn't love the beach? Abra is so well adjusted, definitely someone you'd want as a friend.

I wanted to give Eli a big hug and I wanted to protect him from himself. Abra did such a wonderful job of bringing him back to life. And I wanted his grandmother to be my grandmother too lol not to replace my grandmothers but I just loved her!
Got it and read it. I could not put this book down.
As I said in my review; I don't know how Nora Roberts does it, but I love her more and more.
Amazing author. I will turn lesbian and marry her just to get her books before they come out (I know, I'm obsessed with her work).
I love the ending, and for those who have already read it, might agree. Just the thrill of that last few lines.
Recommend this book to everyone who loves Nora Roberts or loves romance.

Oh, and I would love to leave Australia and move to Whiskey Beach (if it really exists).

Just looked over my NR shelf.......feel like reading all her books over again!!!
All the comments about the new book, I had to breakdown and buy for the Kindle, lol. Can't wait to get started!!!
I just got my notice that I have Whiskey Beach waiting at the library to pick up, will be starting the book today!!! Can't wait!
I just finished last night, it was amazing!! Really enjoyed it.
On another note, with the Kentucky Derby coming up, does anyone do a re-read of True Betrayals?

I don't think I've ever read 'True Betrayals'. The plot for it doesn't sound familiar at all. Is this one I should move closer to the top of my never-ending TBR list?

Omg! That is one of my favorite NR standalone books. I am not American. But the book paints such a wonderful picture of not only abt the horses but of the places mentioned. Interesting.
Finished reading Whiskey Beach this morning. Loved every word NR wrote. How I would love to have that house on the beach. Love Love Love the book, one of my all time favorites. I probably say that about every book I read but, just love her writing. Can't ever get tired of her books.
Kathy - I'm with you in regard to never tiring of Nora's writing. I think we, as her fans, are very lucky that she puts out as many books per year as she does!
I started reading this book and as Abra was giving Eli his first massage the only thing I could think was "forget about the sex scenes, I want more massage!"
I agree Julia, I could just feel the tension in my shoulder blades loosening by the description in those massage scenes.
I finished Whiskey Beach this morning. Not really sure why, but it really didn't gel for me. The romance wasn't hot. The suspense was good, because you really didn't know who, or how many, bad guys there were until near the end. That part was really well written.
This was one of my fave rom-suspense books by NR. I thought it was a bit more laid back than most of her rom-suspense and I think that's what I liked about it.
I finished reading Whiskey Beach early this morning. I must say I am a big fan of NR and have read everything but the JD Robb books. I enjoyed reading this book, but I have to admit that I was a little disappointed. Nora's books usually drag me into the covers and spit me back out exhausted and emotional. Can't say this book affected me that way.
