For the second meeting we will be reading pages 66-166 this is through chapter 27.

What are your thoughts on the book so far?

I'm playing catch-up, just got the book yesterday. Intriguing. Looking up a lot of words, thankful for my AED app!

The author describes his work as "wierd fiction" and is one a group of authors known as the New Wierd.

I am so sad that Shelly is not reading this with us--just imagining her reaction to a British Underground Magical Squid Cult brings a smile to my face...Here is an overview if you are trying to catch up:

Now that I'm into the book it seems like a "Squiddish Harry Potter" story. Definitely full of surprises and odd vernacular!
