OK, so he's supposedly super hott, secretive, blah, blah, blah. Why do girls swoon whenever someone mentions the vamp? He has bad hair, bad clothes, and oh, he EATS PEOPLE!!! I'm a fan of vampires, but Stephanie Meyer ruined them. Damn. And since when do they sparkle in the sun? That is so stupid!!!

Totally. It was so dumb in the movie when he sparkled. I laughed so hard because of how stupid it was. I actually love vampires and think it's attractive (I mean, people biting someone else's neck!), but the Twilight vampires are just plain retarded.
Any thought of Edward is disturbing period, but... 0_o Bad... mental... image... of Edward in a top hat with a huge beard and moustache smoking a pipe! (I've turned him Irish)

Yeah, but I kinda feel bad for Robert Pattinson because he always has anxiety attacks and the cast is spreading rumors about him. I think he has a really wussy voice, though!

I don't really know, I just heard from some friends at school. The cast has turned against him. How evil. :(

Hmm... maybe I should add Castiel in there and ask what the people from heaven thinks of Twilight.

Personally, I can't figure out the attraction. The actor looks like a pussy. He's a Vampussie. Then I learned the he was a stalker, so that would make him a creepy stalker Vampussie, right?(Note: the word "pussy" is used in this context as having the defination of "spinless yellow wimp-coward")

I'm pretty sure he did that, but I can't go back to the book to check anymore since I sold mine! ^_^
Man one thing that pissed me off is how the actor got his own page in People's Sexiest Man Alive 2008 issue (I only bought the mag because Hugh Jackman was voted SMA which I agree with wholeheartedly.)Anyway, RPattz was voted sexiest vampire (um, I'd have to say Gerard Butler in Dracula 2000 even though the film sucked he was hot, or Jason Patric in The Lost Boys, cuz I'm into the crazy 80s).
What really bugged me though was that Ben Barnes, who played Prince Caspian in the latest Narnia movie wasn't even mentioned! I think he is smokin' hot. He has FABULOUS hair, he looks like he actually bathes, and he is a great new talent. Oh, and he doesn't sparkle, so I don't find myself questioning his heterosexuality. Plus, in the film he fell for Susan who was totally kickass, not like whiny-bitch Bella.
Phew, needed to get that off my chest.
Hellz yeah I watched Buffy. My oldest sister was into it. She's really the one that got me into vampire lore. (When she told me she was thinking about reading Twilight, I was able to change her mind simply by telling her the vampires sparkled.)
Personally I was never really into vampires that much. Horror creature wise I prefer werewolves. Relationship wise I prefer living breathing human beings. Mainly because I can't get over the fact that vampires are basically just dead bodies. No matter "smexy" they are the whole thing just smacks of necrophilia to me.Please note that when I say I like werewolves this is not to be taken in a "I want to have sex with" manner. I just think werewolves are just more awsome then vampires are.
I like The Mortal Instruments trilogy by Cassandra Clare. I also enjoyed the Silver Kiss (forget the author's name). I also like the Historian, though it took a while to get through, and of course, Dracula.
im more into the anita blake vampire hunter series. i dunno, theres just something about the evil vamps that get me.

welll i dont really how vampire books really are cause twilight is the first vampire book i ever read so other ones might be good i cant judge vampire academy just like that
My problem with the character of Edward is that he is so controlling. Because he is so much more powerful than Bella he tells her what and what not to do, where she is and where she is not allowed to go, who she is allowed to see, etc etc. I've had relationships with men like that, and let me tell you they didn't last long. Some of his actions are bordering on abuse. I told a friend this and she said he was just doing it because he loved Bella. I'm a little concerned that this book is sending the message to young girls that that sort of behavior from a man is ok, because it just means he loves her.
wow, i never really thought about it like that. i guess twilight does send the wrong messages to the girls who read the books. dang.
Neha wrote: "welll i dont really how vampire books really are cause twilight is the first vampire book i ever read so other ones might be good i cant judge vampire academy just like that"There's another reason I suppose I hate it. People who don't normally read - not saying that you don't, because I don't know - choose Twilight as their first book to read, and they base everything else off of that. At school, I've seen the most unlikely people holding a copy of Breaking Dawn. It makes me scoff.
I have NO clue why. for one thing, Robert Patterson only got his hair that way by not washing it for at least 6 years.

People act like Twilight is the most amazing piece of literature to hit the 21st century without even reading much else. When you have little or nothing to compare it to, why go on about it so much?
On the bright side, at least its getting people to read.
You don't, possibly because you've read better. The more you read- well, eventually you happen to stumble upon something that is really good (read: Terry Pratchett), so you have higher expectations than somebody who has little to compare it to. That's what I was getting at.
Yeah. I've read heaps of books, so now that I have, nothing ever seems to be that great. Like, I know that there are amazing books out there, but to me, every book I read is good (bar Twilight). I don't analyse the books critically or anything, but I still see them as the same.
