Has anyone ever set up a blog tour? I'm thinking about doing one, but I'm not entirely sure what's involved in that. Does anyone have any experiences with them they'd like to share?

You can definitely set your own book tour up. You just need to know or find bloggers who read your genre and might be interested in posting about your book. Then, contact them with your marketing information (blurb, cover image, etc.) and find out if they'd be available or interested in being part of the tour (make it sound like it's a fun thing they won't want to miss out on, versus more work).

The ads on the sidebar feature the cover of your book, and thousands of readers and other bloggers visit daily (plus, the Book Review Directory is a great resource to find bloggers for your book tour). I know I've found many authors through the sidebar ads, so it might help you get the word out.
