Hello, I am going back in time a little but I finally read this book after seeing reviews of it in quite a few places. It's hard to describe my reactions to it. I have to admit I didn't read the whole book cover to cover, but sort of swooped in to read some chapters or sections and skipped others. It is a fascinating story, and I think many people who aren't twins are somewhat fascinated by them. I was surprised to read that if an identical twin dies, the odds are high that the second twin will also. She is certainly an honest writer, holding back very few details, and I liked seeing the comments of her sister that she got from her journals, etc. But overall, I am not sure I liked the book and I wasn't inspired, although it wasn't discouraging either. In some places it seemed like it hadn't been edited very well, but on the other hand the disjointed narrative may be meant to reflect her overall life pattern at that time. I'm glad that Crista is doing better and has found a new soul mate of sorts and started a family, since it seemed to be what she yearned for throughout the book. It would be nice to hear after time passes how she is doing. It's a somewhat rare insight into how two people who share so much genetic material actually live their lives. Has someone else read it? Do you think that Crista is "out of the woods," so to speak? What about their mother?
P.S. I may have commented twice. i am having a little trouble navigating Goodreads....

What struck me was how she seemed to be searching for a home and family throughout the book but didn't really recognize what she had until the end, when she remarried and had a baby. I wonder if she is still struggling with her path or if she has been able to let herself feel at home with her new family? I also wonder what has become of her mother.

Thank you, I will look that up. Several recent books seem to be examining twins and sisters, their relationships and how they connect to each other and others. It is interesting reading for sure.
