I love finding new authors with paranormal books that I can cozy up with.

If you are a GoodReads Author and have published a paranormal book feel free to start a thread in this folder.

Please be sure to tell us where we can find your book if it's not readily available and add any links to your websites/writing samples.

((Any other promotion stuff needs to be posted in the Self-Promotion folder))

The only rule:
By creating a thread you are initiating a conversation with us. We expect you to be available for questions and comments from our members. You would never run into a book club yell "Check out my stuff" and run out so don't do that here. Simple right? We WANT to talk to you so give us the opportunity to do so. Should someone ask a question (not just a comment but ASKs a question of you) and you don't respond within 2 weeks we'll remove the thread since it is obviously not a conversation.

I've added a rule for authors in the first post...

We haven't had problems with this yet - in fact we've had some great conversations with several authors and I value that. Actually, Nina - in this thread - is a PERFECT example of polite promotion. Thanks Nina! As the group grows I worry we'll get promotion stuff from people that don't care to get to know all our crazy members.

It was just released on December 1st and has held the #1 Best Selling Dark Fantasy spot on Fictionwise for 5 weeks in a row! {Thank you so much, awesome people!! :-)).

Instead of going all "blah, blah, blah," I'd rather just share a few descriptions from your fellow readers:

"Riveting."
"I read it in 24 hours!"
"Can't put it down."
"A whole new take on vampires."
"Absolutely Brilliant."
"Can't wait for the next book."
"I LOVE this book. It's scary, warm, funny, and from the start, I was hooked!"

Cutting to the chase, it's available in Trade Paperback and eBook and you can READ THE PROLOGUE & FIRST TWO CHAPTERS for FREE at the website: :-)

Rachelle (shelleyenglish) | 2 comments Tessa, I went to your website and read a little of Blood Destiny and Blood Awakening are they from the same series. I wanted to buy them both for my kindle but only Blood Destiny seems to be available. Can you tell me how to get Blood Awakening?

message 10: by Tessa (new)

Tessa Dawn (tessadawn) | 4 comments Hi Rachelle,
Thanks for asking about the books! Yes, they are from the same series: the Blood Curse Series. Blood Destiny was released on Dec 1, 2010, and Blood Awakening is set to be released in 2011 (not yet out). I'm currently working on the third title. There is a mailing list on the website under the "Contact" page -- readers can sign up there to receive email notification(s) of future releases...we're all hoping we won't have to wait too long for Blood Awakening!

I hope this helps. :-)

Gale Minchew (galeminchew) ON THE BANKS OF A SLEEPY BAYOU... a lost soul is nestled in the piney woods of East Texas, waiting and watching in the darkness of the shadows. He is feverishly seeking the past but is inevitably snared in the present and will stop at nothing to find his destiny.

Amanda | 4 comments Hello,
The Caressed by Moonlight Giveaway will be ending March 28th. If anyone is interested in entering to win a print and/or e-book copy (PDF) of Caressed by Moonlight, the first novel in the Rulers of Darkness series, please visit the Giveaway page on the author website http://www.amandajgreene.com/giveaway...

VampireRomanceBooks.com Review of Caressed by Moonlight:
A wonderful debut novel in the Rulers of Darkness series, Amanda J Greene’s Caressed by Moonlight takes us back in time when rumors and opinions from high society were enough to ruin a “lady”. I loved Victoria’s character because of her strength and wit. I found myself laughing at the way she continually put Dorian in his place even though he is such a powerful vampire used to being respected and feared. The relationship that starts as a matter of necessity and lust turns in to a love that can stand against any adversity. The secondary characters are all fascinating and worthy of their own books. I would love to read more about Falcon, Raphael, Jacques, and Sonya. Caressed by Moonlight is a story that any lover of romance literature will enjoy, whether you’re a vampire fan or not. The vampire part just makes it all the more enjoyable!

If anyone is interested in reading a little about the author and her work, check out her interviews on VampireRomanceBooks and Night Owl Reviews.

Description:
Dorian Vlakhos is no ordinary aristocrat. He is a vampire king, who will do anything to save his clan from complete annihilation, before an ancient curse can claim his immortal life.

Penniless and orphaned, Victoria Kingston has nothing to bring to a marriage, yet she must shackle an unsuspecting gentleman into marriage by the end of the month or forfeit her rights as guardian of her younger sister. With the help of her dearest friend, Victoria begins her hunt, and vows to stay far away from the dark, mysterious, Prince Vlakhos.

After meeting the beautifully innocent Miss Kingston, Dorian had to have her. He would do absolutely anything to make Victoria his. One sweet stolen kiss would bring them together while a force, more powerful than any vampire, would bind them for all eternity, but treachery, war, and death rule Dorian’s dark world and Victoria would be fortunate to survive.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Scott Robinson (scottbrobinson) I'm a recent GoodReads author and a recent addition to this group...

I've just published a collection of short tales in a variety of paranormal sub-genres:

Divine City: Bangkok Fantasies

I believe it will appeal to readers who might savor a richer, more prosaic narrative style. You can also listen to free podcast excerpts at ScottBRobinson.net.

And of course, as a GoodReads author, I am more than happy to hear feedback, answer questions, whatever. That's some of the funner stuff...

Valerie Douglas (valeriedouglas) | 1 comments Hi everyone, my name is Valerie Douglas. I'm a long-time GoodReads author with two paranormal books available in addition to my fantasy and thrillers.
Heart of the Gods by Valerie Douglas Tales of the fabled Tomb of the Djinn and its Guardian have fascinated archaeologist Ky Farrar since a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo when he was a boy. The story of the star-crossed lovers and their battle to save ancient Egypt from the Djinn made him choose his career. He believes he’s finally found it - only to discover the Tomb's Guardian is all too real. And she's as lovely as she is lethal.
Ky, however, isn't the only one searching. It's a race to reach the Tomb before the others accidentally unleash what lies within it in their effort to claim the ancient artifacts which lie within - the legendary Horn of the Djinn and the Heart of the Gods.
Servant of the Gods by Valerie Douglas The prequel to Heart of the Gods was just released. (They can be read in any order, though.)
If you'd like to know more? Well, I'm an author, there's nothing we like better than talking about our books!

Kris Neri (krisneri) | 3 comments I'm a new member of the group and a paranormal author. I write a humorous series featuring fake psychic Samantha Brennan, who teams up with Celtic goddess/FBI agent Annabelle Haggerty, HIGH CRIMES ON THE MAGICAL PLANE, a Lefty Award nominee, and MAGICAL ALIENATION. I've also published non-paranormal humorous mysteries, a couple of thrillers and many short stories.

You can read excerpts of both books here on Goodreads, and also on my website:

http://www.krisneri.com/

They're available from many bookstores and online sellers, but since I also own a bookstore, The Well Red Coyote in Sedona, AZ, they're especially available from our virtual store:

http://www.wellredcoyote2.com/default...

Thanks for letting me post this here. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. I love these characters, and I love sharing them with readers.

Cheree Alsop | 2 comments I am a new author with a werewolf series. The books are:

Silver (The Silver Series) by Cheree Alsop and Black (The Silver Series) by Cheree Alsop

Here is a blurb of the books:

Silver, book one of the Silver Series, is a coming of age story about a teenage werewolf whose father is murdered. He has to come to terms with his new life, new school, and new friends while trying to prevent more killings. Attempting to make peace with the territory’s pack and falling in love with a werewolf hunter’s daughter make his new situation even more perilous.

Black, book two of the Silver Series, is about a werewolf raised through the atrocities of a werewolf fighting ring. He is rescued and given the chance at a new life, but haunting reminders of his past follow him as he tries to make a fresh start. He has to confront his dark history in order to protect the girl he loves, or let himself be swept away into the pain and humiliation of the arena once more.

The third book in The Silver Series will be published on January 31st.

Please find these books and my others at www.chereealsop.com

Douglas Brown (douglasbrown) | 6 comments Hello all,

My werewolf tale with a twist is available from Rhemalda Publishing now. It is called Tamed and can be found most places where you buy books. (Amazon, BN, etc.) It is also available as an ebook.
Here is the synopsis.

Werewolves are real.

And they make excellent pets.

Owning one of the legendary creatures is the latest fad. The WereHouse insists werepets are loyal, docile, and 100% safe, but what happens when these gentle giants turn on their masters?

While on a routine EMS call, paramedic Christine Alt is attacked by a rogue werepet. She escapes with her life, but the encounter leaves her with more than just scars. As her body begins to change, she discovers the WereHouse is hiding a terrible secret, and they will stop at nothing to keep her from exposing them.

You can read about me or my work on my blog at www.epertase.com or check out my goodreads profile by clicking on my name. I look forward to checking out more of the above books and love the idea of this thread. So often, threads have hundreds of posts and it is impossible to find books in specific genres. This is great that I can come here and find vampire or werewolf books right off the bat.

Shereen Vedam Hi there,

This group seems to be right up my alley, since it begins, "Witches," which I love to write about.

Last week, I released a new fantasy romance short story called The Misspelled Charm.

John (johnpeters2) | 5 comments During a recent free promotion, my short tale The Dark Secret of Warren House, recently shot to No. 2 on the Amazon horror list -- ahead of some quite well-known writers.

A haunted house tale about a home, a town in its grip, and two folks who find themselves in a deadly struggle ... The Dark Secret of Warren House, just 99 cents.

Eliza March | 4 comments I've written several paranormal books, but this one Defeat the Darkness is my first with vampires. I like the supernatural world of Bon Temp (True Blood) where all sorts of being exist, so naturally my books have a variety of creatures with unusual abilities. I'm also a big Anita Blake (Laurell K Hamilton) fan, therefore I enjoy writing inherently sexy stories.

Justin Gustainis | 2 comments My latest urban fantasy novel, KNOWN DEVIL, is due for publication next week. It's the third book in my "Haunted Scranton" series, following HARD SPELL and EVIL DARK. Set in an alternate universe where supernatural creatures are real and everyone knows it, the books feature Detective Sergeant Stan Markowski of the Scranton Police Department's Occult Crimes Unit. Here's the publisher's page for the book:

http://angryrobotbooks.com/books/know...

And here's the Amazon link:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A...

I'm offering a free digital copy (either Mobi or ePub) to anyone who is willing to post an honest review on Amazon (and anywhere else you write reviews). If you're unfamiliar with the series, I'll even send you all three books in digital format -- no cost, and no obligation beyond a review. I don't expect you to post your review by the publication date, BTW -- whenever you get to it is fine.

I will happily respond to comments left here, but if you're interested in a free book, please email me directly (rather than through the list) at justingustainis@yahoo.com. Let me know whether you prefer Mobi or ePub. If you eschew digital in favor of print, I’ll happily mail you a book (within the U.S. only, please).

Thanks for your consideration.

Hello! I love urban fantasy and all things paranormal, so when I sat down to write my latest novel, that's exactly what I wrote about...of course, there are, ghosts, beasts, and humans too. Book 2 comes out next month, and I have a Christmas Novella coming out in November with the same series...yes...you can mix Christmas and demons - definitely no sugar plum fairies in this story.

Matilda (matildareyes) | 2 comments Hello! I'm Matilda Reyes, urban fantasy and paranormal romance (coming soon!) author. I'm releasing three, possibly four, urban fantasy books by next May, so hold on tight.

I'm looking for reviewers for my recently released urban fantasy book, Unearthly Magik. It's the first book in the Black Cauldron Detective Agency series. Think magic, mayhem, and murder.

Available on Kindle Unlimited

Rivals. Impossible cases. Supernatural war.

Ava Ramos is one furious mage. New York City is her town, and she and her Black Cauldron Detective Agency know every beat of the supernatural underground. Need an object found or secrets uncovered? Ava and her partners are the mages to contact. A former rival, Tasis, shows up with a case that proves Ava just might not know everything about her town.

The Lauret Grimoire, the oldest known compendium of the supernatural, has gone missing from one of the most closely guarded magikal libraries in the city. The mages assigned to guard the damned thing can’t find any clues. Tasis is one of those mages.

Now, Tasis is calling in the last favor Ava owes him. Ava never breaks her word, so she and the Black Cauldron Detective Agency take the impossible case.

Can they find The Lauret Grimoire before anyone in the supernatural underground gets their hands on it? Or will a supernatural war start in Ava’s backyard?

Mike O'Malley | 1 comments Hi, Shannon and all WWAV-ers. I’m Mike O'Malley, a first-time novelist who’s thrilled to be part of a group that prizes the paranormal.

While I don’t have any WWVs in my book, "In the Nick of Slime" (release date: Feb. 2) does have a shapeshifter, a telekinetic, a cosmokinetic, and a wizard. I hope I’m still eligible for membership!

Also, I would welcome ARC readers who use e-pub and mobi formats (check my profile for a book description to see if you might enjoy the read). I'm also open to swapping ARCs with you if you’re a writer of paranormal mystery comedies.

Looking forward to future discussions!

Thanks!
