Tell the group what you're ate or are planning to eat for dinner, either because you cooked it or you went out for food :)

I'll start...tonight Adele and I ate vegetarian cous cous and a spicy sausage sandwich (just I ate the sandwich as Adele is vegetarian) in a little hole-in-the-wall place in Morocco. It was delicious and only 50 dirham ($6 U.S.) :)

Who's next?

message 2: by Ruby (new)

Ruby Black (ruby_black) cheeky you, starting a rival food topic (jk)....

Another vegetarian - awesome! *fist bump for Adele*

Don't know about dinner, but planning to bake some Gluten-Free Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins though.

Oh shoot, was there another one? I completely forgot! Eep! Well, thanks for being my first poster on this one! Yeah, Adele's a three year vegetarian (well, technically pescetarian--she eats seafood), but she didn't really eat much meat her whole life as she LOVES animals too much :)

Oooooh, I love those kind of muffins!!

message 4: by Lola (new)

Lola (lolasreviews) | 563 comments I am also a vegetarian or actually a pescetarian (never heard of that word before though :P), I occasionaly eat seafood, like 5 times a year or so. And just like Adele I never ate much meat, when I was a child I usually ate half of my meat and gave the rest to my sister or mom. I actually can't remember how long I've been a vegetarian, I think for like 8-9 years already.

I baked peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips today and they are delicious, already half of them are gone I think :P. And we had japanese curry as dinner, which my sister made. My sister usually cooks, it amazed me how she manages to come up with something to cook everyday.

Cool!! Adele used to give her meat to her cat, Tequila lol!

YUMMY! Oooh I love curry so much!!

I am most definitely NOT a vegetarian, but kudos to Adele and Ruby! They would not like my dinner lol! Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza--Pizza with bacon, hamburger, lots of cheese and pickles!

I know...how can anyone resist lemons and poppyseeds lol ;)

So, today calls for Warm Dandelion Greens with Roasted Garlic Dressing with some roasted sweet potatoes sprinkled with lemon juice and pepper.

Jessica Carroll (Novel Words by Jessica) | 3 comments You guys are way too creative :) I had chicken fajitas - nothing fancy!

message 10: by Rebecka (new)

Rebecka My husband is from Guam and he cooks much more interesting food than I do. Tonight he's making kadon pica (sp?) It's this ridiculously yummy boiled chicken over rice.

LOL wow he sounds skilled in the kitchen :)

Ruby Black (ruby_black) Not gourmet at all; I am hands down the most boring cook ever. I know a few dishes and stick with those.

Having a spot of breakfast at work, just a simple granola, yogurt, and a berry mix.

message 14: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
That sounds good, Ruby! My breakfast is always coffee, which I'm enjoying right now!

message 15: by Ruby (new)

Ruby Black (ruby_black) LOL ;) I like the smell of vanilla hazelnut coffee in the morning, but I can't drink it :)

Aww, so cute...how old is your little kiddo? Guessing, babies don't like lasagna.

message 17: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
I think its dependent on the kid...all mine loved lasagna and spaghetti when they were babies!

I've got to figure out what to make myself for lunch!

message 18: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
I'm too hot and tired from my walk to the post office to cook. Its 85 degrees outside with high humidity. I'm not going to complain, though, because its supposed to drop 30 degrees by tomorrow :(

Chips and salsa it is then! lol

Making good old fashioned spaghetti with garlic bread for dinner! We've been so boring lately...

Lol that's not boring, that's delicious!

message 22: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan | 383 comments Jenny, I know how you feel! We've been consistently getting over 100 degrees this week, ugh! And it's not about to cool down anytime soon.

I had jumbalaya for lunch which I haven't had in forever. I haven't thought through dinner yet tho! Probably nothing fancy though tonight. Maybe I'll make some speghetti or alfredo.

message 23: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
Yeah, when I can't decide what to make I always go to PASTA!! Its cheap and easy!

Jambalaya sounds amazing, I haven't had that in a long time!

message 24: by Ruby (new)

Ruby Black (ruby_black) I had a sad little veggie sandwich with Parmesan and oregano with some cold pomegranate-peach white tea for dinner.

message 25: by Ruby (new)

Ruby Black (ruby_black) @Leandra aw so cute! It seems everyone I know has little ones (sorry its spring again, so everyone is toting around the city with their little bundles of cuteness).

I'm gonna sound ignorant (my apologies), but I didn't know babies could start eating 'adult' food until they were about 2. Thought they still drank milk and mushy baby stuff.

LOL - I have to admit though I am not a big fan of the red stuff either lol ;) (though I love the pasta bit)

message 26: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan | 383 comments I'll have to try that Leandra! It sounds amazing!

message 27: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
It depends on the country--Here in America they start pushing table foods at age one, as long as its in small bites and easy to chew. I've heard in France that they feed their kids baby food for a lot longer.

message 28: by Ruby (last edited Apr 30, 2013 07:23PM) (new)

Ruby Black (ruby_black) @Leandra

Hahaha! Oi Ben and Jerry, looks like you have your next ice cream flavor of the month! All royalties deferred to Leandra!!

@Jenny interesting; think I was clueless due to the fact I'm not a mum lol ;) I'm pretty sure they probably do the same thing up here in Canada (gonna ask my friend whose a new mum just to get the facts straight - never know when that info might be handy)

message 29: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
Yeah, I have no idea about any other countries, I just read an article once on a columnist who was a new mother visiting a new mom friend in France, and the differences in raising children between the two countries. It was pretty interesting!

The spaghetti and cheesy garlic bread was delicious! Its always a good stand by meal!

MARINARA FLAVORED ICE CREAM??? EWWWW!

message 30: by Katelyn (new)

Katelyn Broad (katelynb) I'm a vegetarian too! :)
Tonight I will probably get a magically delicious salad from Cafe Rio with black beans, rice, salsa, lots of veggies and avocado.
Gotta love food!

Chris Sorensen (csorensen) | 218 comments Tonight I'm having my wife's WONDERFUL chicken curry with rice. Simple, but SOOOO yummy!

message 32: by Brandy (new)

Brandy Nacole (brandynacole) Not sure what's on the menu tonight for dinner BUT I know what I'm having for dessert. Found this new recipe idea and I think my kids are going to love it.

I'll share:
Needed:
Cookie Dough (of your choice)
Cupcake/Muffin Pan
Ice Cream

Instructions:
Take cupcake pan, flip it over, and wrap cookie dough around the outside. Back cookie dough as instructed. Once finished, you have a cookie bowl to put your ice cream in.

Yum Yum

Lol I like the way you think...dessert first ;)

message 36: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan | 383 comments I do something similar to that Brandy. I make cookie cupcakes so to speak and put the cookie dough in the little cupcake holder things in a cupcake pan, bake them, and then top with ice cream. Delicious!

message 37: by Jenny, Always smiling! :-D (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 12932 comments Mod
I've seen that recipe before Brandy and I've been wanting to try it!

Everyone else's food sounds so yummy!

Today for lunch I picked up Whoppers and fries from Burger King and delivered them to hubby's work and we had lunch together :)

Dinner is Canadian Bacon pizza this time!
We are under a boil ban for our water in our town--probably will be through the weekend. Its so annoying to cook anything when you either have to use bottled water, or boil the water first! So tonight I didn't want to deal with, hence the frozen pizza!

message 38: by Marylene (new)

Marylene | 74 comments Nothing was cooking today. The boyfriend has been too busy to cook lately, so he took me out to dinner to a nice Italian restaurant. Pricey, but yummy!

'Kidlets', I luv it. Do you mind if I borrow it?

message 41: by Ruby (new)

Ruby Black (ruby_black) Went out with some colleagues for after hours drinks, drank two glasses of sangria (FYI I'm a total light weight) and ended up staying there for dinner. The pizza was kind enough to absorb the effects of the sangria.

Tonight I made my homemade chicken and noodles with fresh bread. It was a good night for it, with the snowstorm we got today!

I'd rather be you, lol! Our winter didn't start until March--and its been awful ever since! We had one nice week of weather since then, and I'm SO TIRED OF SNOW AND COLD!!!!!

Come to Arizona! We're in 3 digit temps already! Fire Country's Perry the Prickler is in cactus heaven right now!

message 48: by Ruby (new)

Ruby Black (ruby_black) Okay, seriously I have to get to where you all are now (Arizona, Cali (I MISS the beach!!!).

@Jenny seriously snow now? WoW, I am way far up north and we don't have snow? What is up with the weather lately? Completely happy the sun is out, but I could use a REAL beach!

@Tay the beaches not cutting it for ya anymore? If you prefer ice cold winters Canada should be just the place for ya' lol we have lovely brutal -20/-30 winters ;)

@Karen I want to visit Arizona so badly. Keep trying to get my parents to retire there because of the great weather.
