Um, my plan in picking this book was to force myself to finally read Middlemarch before reading The World Before Her. It didn't happen. And having just picked up some really cool old books from a library's used-book sale (including a 1958 edition of Jane Eyre), my intentions of reading Middlemarch soon will probably not happen ...

Me, I've read Mill on the Floss and Middlemarch. Actually, I read Mill on the Floss twice (lit professors, please compare syllabi!) and I still remember nothing of it, so it must not have made much of an impression on me.
Middlemarch I read of my volition, and though it's one very long tome, I remember enjoying it.
I do feel compelled to pick up (and by pick up, I mean DOWNLOAD) another George Eliot book, now that I feel more familiar with the woman behind the novels. Recommendations, anyone?
