Is this worth reading?

I'm honestly not sure how many more there are. I have.... five or six I think, but I've seen quite a few more on Amazon. I would have to look it up.They're tie in novels which means they're basically fan fiction that people have been paid to write for the show (which means if you know anything about what makes fan fiction amazing you'll know why that's problematic). There is no real specific order to any of them though each book happens in a different spot within the Supernatural timeline so depending on where you are in the show you could not understand a certain referenced event or know who a specific character is. Though even at that most of the authors keep details pretty vague so the story shouldn't be impossible to follow even if you're not as far in the TV show timeline as the book is (does that make sense?). You might just get some spoilers you don't want at worst.
As far as their quality goes... that depends on several things. First keep in mind that these books are basically cash cow attempts to make money off the fans (so don't go in expecting TOO much) and they're each done by different authors with varying degrees of knowledge about the show. So some of the books have a bit more... love put into them then others.
Some of these people are fans of the show. Some of them didn't know about the shows existence until they were approached to write the book. Some of the books stay really true to character, but have weak plot. Some have an interesting plot, but Dean and Sam feel really OOC.
In Nevermore I really loved Sam and Dean's characters. I thought they were written very well and their interactions with each other through the whole book were my favorite part and what really kept me reading and enjoying the book. The story itself though was extremely weak esp when you consider the subject of one of the two story arcs going on was horror master Edger Allen Poe.
In the end I would say yes they are pretty good and worth reading (despite how I've painted them xD ). For some of the blaring flaws in each book I have yet to find one that didn't have something that I enjoyed reading in it, and I have yet to find a book that I can say I regretted buying. They're just quick to read fun novels.
I would recommend picking up at least one and trying it out. As I said each author has a different skill and strength to their writing, but you'll get a perfectly good idea if you're going to like the rest of them or not by picking up one book.
I think you misunderstood a little. They're not written by fans as in fan fiction like what I think you're thinking of (though I don't see why that's really such a turn off honestly. There's some really awesome fan fiction out there that honestly surpasses the quality of the tie-in novels). They're written by various authors. Some of them are fans of the show and others are people who have never heard of the show until they were approached to write the book.

How many more are there?
Are they good?
What order do they go in?
Is it based off the TV show or is the TV show based off the novels?
I LOVE the TV show (Still in season 4 no spoilers please) But is it worth reading these books?
