I love dystopian books, so the premise of this book really grabbed me - the earth's rotation is slowing down, resulting in a full day being weeks long without a nighttime break. What wonderful havoc will this create? I couldn't wait to find out. What I ended up reading however, was a very slow moving (just like the slowing of the Earth) story that seemed to focus more on the problems of an adolescent 6th grade girl. Don't get me wrong. The story was well written, and the science was well researched, it's just that I thought it would be more of an adult themed book than a YA book. Not all dystopian books should be for the young.

I agree. I really liked the idea of the book but the reality of it was slow and not at all what I was hoping for.
