I am fortunate enough to work at the library so I get to see all the books-just need more time to read. I love mystery but will give anything that is recommended a try.
Hello, I learned to love to read from my mother who happened to retire from working at the Carroll County Public Library system last year. Looking forward to learning about some fantastic books to read
I like to read historical fiction, and realistic fiction as well as non-fiction. I do not like scary books or movies. Eeek! My to read list is super long, hoping to make good progress this summer.
Hi! I love to read all kinds of things! Mostly nonfiction, with a quirky fiction (adult and young adult) thrown in there every once in a while. I'm also a fan of graphic novels, but I don't read them nearly enough. This summer I'm reading a number of correspondences between famous people. I'm most excited to read Napoleon's letters to his wife, Josephine.
Hola, I'm Chris. I mostly read whatever seems most entertaining to me. Lately, this has been (in reverse order), Sarah Silverman's autobiography, the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley , a christian apologetics book by Timothy Keller, and a book about how to arrange songs.
Hello! I can't wait for the long, lazy days of summer! My summer memories are full of great books read on the beach, by the pool, and in the cool of the air-conditioning, when neither beach nor pool was available. I look forward to adding a bunch of new books to my Summer Reads list this year!

I like to read all kinds of books, bust mostly YA, and biographies.I am looking forward to relaxing by the pool with a good book this summer!
Hello, all! I've been an avid reader my whole life, but I tend to get interested in a genre for a few years, only to move on. The last two were historical fiction and then non-fiction history of science. Now, I find myself seeking out science fiction and fantasy.
Hello, my name's Mallory and I work at North Carroll. My favorite genres are historical and YA fiction, but I will read absolutely anything. My favorite accompaniment to a good book is a nice cup of hot tea (yes, even in the summertime!).
Hello. I love going to the library pretty much weekly and checking out videos and books. Right now I am reading some books on weaving for my workshops this summer. I like to read Young Adult and classic children's books that I haven't read before or haven't read since I was little. I like to see the differences between the book and the movie.
Hi, My name is Christina. I really enjoy reading! Mostly I only have time to read children's stories to my 3 children, but crack open a novel whenever I can!
Hi! My name is Tammy. I try to read some every day. I love all genres. Some of my neighbors and I started a book club about 1 1/2 years ago. Love the different types of books that are picked within the group, some I would never have picked up on my own. Looking forward to seeing what everyone on here is reading this summer!
Hi, My name is Sherrie and I'm a frequent patron of the Finksburg and Westminster Libraries. I LOVE to read and I enjoy all genres. I also love books in all formats: physical books, audio books and e-readers. I have been a member of Goodreads for 1.5 years and also joined LibraryThing about 6 months ago. I'm excited to be a part of this group and look forward to connecting with other avid readers.

Hi! My name is Tammy and I am an independent vacation specialist. I work from home so that I can take car of my 16 month old. It has been a long time since I have visited a library but when I was younger my mom always had me enrolled in the summer reading program and I am now doing the same for my son. We attend story time in Westminster for the month of June and in July we will attend Taneytown's story time. I love reading. I have read 2 books in 1 month so far. I am excited about joining the group and seeing what everyone else is reading!

Hi. I'm Rachel. I've been reading since the age of 4 and just rediscovered the library as a resource for my baby daughter. Reading has been my escape and my passport to the world. One of my current "projects" is to read all the Newbery award winners. I love good southern fiction and travel writing.

Hi, I'm Kari. I am a public school English teacher who strives to share my passion of reading and writing with my high school students and my 2 daughters (ages 5 and 8 months). I usually read curriculum based books and non-fiction books about educational technology. My guilty pleasure is the murder mystery genre. Rarely am I without a book in hand, on my phone, or in my purse.

Hi! I just learned about this group when I signed up for the adult summer reading program last night. I'm Beth and I love reading books with the supernatural in them. Some of my favs are Anita Blake by Laurell K Hamilton and anything by Kelley Armstrong. I also love the hunger games, mortal instruments, and morganville vampire series! So excited to read this summer!!!
Hi. My name is Leslie. I read primarily for entertainment as the perfect alternative to watching television. I hope to find some new, entertaining reads from this group.
Hi I am Chris. Love to read but never get to do it as much as I like although I have set a reading goal for this year. I read mostly non fiction. I enjoy history, military, and political books.
Hello, I love reading for fun and enjoyment. I read mostly mystery/crime novels but also enjoy historical fiction, sci fi, and some fantasy. Marion Zimmer Bradley is one of my favorite authors. I have enjoyed reading Hunger Games, books by Jo Nesbo, Sara Paretsky, Diana Gabaldon, Ian Pears and many others.
Hi, I'm looking forward to reading historical, christian and great children's books this summer. I just finished "Killing Lincoln" from a recommendation on this site and I very much enjoyed it. Also I am currently reading "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" as a read aloud with my friend's daughter. I usually don't find the time to read as I would like but this has already helped me refocus and get into reading. I'm grateful for this program and for each of you!
Hello, I have always loves reading. Mostly I have been a big fan of murder mysteries, Robert B Parker, P.D. James etc. But in the last 7-8 years I have started broadening my horizons by reading from Oprah's list and then the classics like Hugo and Tolstoy and Steinbeck. I also realized how little I know of history and I started reading the works of Doris Kerans Goodwin when Team of Rivals came out and now I am reading through David McCullough's works. I just love understanding how we got where we are.I look forward to seeing what others are readind and recommending.
Hi everyone! I'm Kathryn. My closest branch is Finksburg. I was so excited when it opened! I am an elem school Humanities teacher (ELA and Social Studies) in CCPS. I also have a Masters Degree in School Library Media. I LOVE to read. During the school year, I am always trying to keep up with the books my students read for Lit Circles. In the summer, I look forward to reading for my own pleasure. I mostly love to read nonfiction, especially biographies. My favorite fiction authors are Dean Koontz and Jodi Picoult. A book I read recently that I could not stop thinking about is Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand.
I'm Teresa and I work at the Finksburg branch. I read current published items that have caught my attention from all sorts of resources. I enjoy nonfiction, historical fiction YA and adult, plus realistic fiction. I too read Unbroken and was incredibly moved by the raw story.
For those of you who read Unbroken you might enjoy Devil at my Heels. It was written by Louis Zamparini. I enjoyed both but I tend to prefer the books written by the person who lived the story.
I am a full-time mom and library substitute at the Eldersburg branch. I've always been an avid reader, though now I struggle to find the time! I love teen and children's books, classics, cozy mysteries, fantasy, and sci-fi. I've recently been reading Elizabeth Peters and Emily Dickinson.
I love reading! I can spend hours at the library perusing all of the books. I have been a member of a local book club for about 7 years. I especially enjoy historical fiction and non-fiction books that are about the resilience of the human spirit.
Hi, I also love to read and I read all kind of things. I like to learn, I like to be entertained and I like to discuss books. I belong to the Free Spirit Book Club at the Eldersburg Library.
Hello! I love books and reading and wish I could make that into a job! I'm excited to start some summer reading. I enjoy fiction most and look forward to finding some new books. Best regards! DMT
I enjoy reading all kinds of books. I suppose my favorites are mysteries and religious literature. I am most happy when I have a read that combines the too. That is why I love Phil Rickman.Right now, I am reading FEVER DREAM by Preston & Childs.
This duo generates some super suspense.
Hi! I am a librarian at the Westminster Library -- I transplanted here last year from Henderson, NV. Since coming to Carroll County, I find that I am reading more than I have ever done before! I listen to a lot of audiobooks since I am always driving to some new destination here on the east coast. I've been on a YA kick lately but also enjoy non-fiction (memoirs, etc.) and graphic novels.
Hi, my favorite book as a young adult was A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. Most recently, I've enjoyed reading Unbroken and the Glass Castle. I enjoy all kinds of fiction and non-fiction for both adults and young adults.
Hi everyone! I'm Lisa. I used to HATE to read but a few years ago my husband and I started to read together and that got me a bit more interested. What really got me going though was when I got my Nook. I love to take it with me where ever I am waiting for my kids. Some of my favorite authors are Barbara Kingsolver, Wally Lamb and Diane Chamberlain.
Hi, I'm Mike. I have a real passion for reading. I like fiction and non-fiction. Right now I'm on more of a non-fiction kick, just finished reading Monsoon: The Indian Ocean and the Future of American Power by Robert D. Kaplan. In the fiction category I recommend anything by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child or anything by Bernard Cornwell.
The winner for our Goodreads contest is Iris (message 40)! Congratulations! Iris, please respond here and let us know at which branch you would like to pick up your gift card!
Hi. My name is Vernon, I'm knocking on 40's door and I frequent my branch (Eldersburg) at least twice a week. I've always been a huge comic book fan and get my fix of trade paperbacks from CCPL. I just found out about this group and figured I'd join up. Mostly I read DC COMICS/ VERTIGO and some of my favorite titles are FABLES and Y:THE LAST MAN.
Hi, I'm Alli. I work at the Taneytown branch. I read a little bit of everything but most of it has some aspect of fantasy involved.
Hi, I'm Donna and I work at the North Carroll branch. I love to read -- mainly women's fiction (chick lit too), some mysteries, contemporary, and an occasional historical. Love funny things, too! Sometimes I will even read something with literary value. ;)
Hello! I'm Caitlin, or Cait as I'm also frequently called. I'm just a teenage girl with a passion for reading and an ability to get completely, totally, lost in a book, unheard of and considered strange by my fellow peers. I enjoy a wide variety of books, and won't pick favorites because the other books will get jealous. :)
Howdy! I am Michele and work at both the Westminster and North Carroll branches. I am looking forward to getting more ideas of what to read and sharing the books I have enjoyed.
Hello! I am Jenn, and I work at Westminster branch as a buzzing little page. I like to touch books, smell books, and above all, read books. I can't wait to browse through some input!
Hi! I'm Barb and I love the Playaways. I read print books, listen to CDs in the car and listen to a Playaway while I walk. So if they're all the same author, sometimes it gets a little confusing!
Hi! I'm Amy, a children's librarian at the Westminster Branch. Lately, I've been reading a lot of YA literature, both for work and to keep up with the teenage readers in my house. Generally, I prefer mysteries, police procedurals, fantasy, and light science fiction. To be honest, much of my "reading" takes place on CD while I'm running from place to place with my children!
