Jula Walker Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace are in talks now.... I am not sure about either! I dont really know Tom Hardy but Noomi is not really a dotting Russian type is she? I want to say Nicole Kidman... she has the Russian looks and is stepford wife enough to pull off "the knowing but unkowing act"?

Gary I think that they are both too young. As for Kidman playing a Russian, can't buy it.

Jula Walker She had played a Russian lady before in "Birthday Girl" :0

Gary Just because she played one does not mean she should have.

Aurelio Ippandoza WOW...that is good casting, read the book and these 2 are are believable...good job

Melissa Aubuchon Noomi, for sure. Tom Hardy doesn't fit the Leo in my mind but I could end up pleasantly surprised.

Allison Tom Hardy is always fun to watch ... he has yet to really convince me he can act! This role would probably make him or break him for me.

And Noomi? She definitely has a unique look, I don't know if I'd pick her to be Tom's lady.

Sara_H_140A513 OMG OMG OMG!!! A MOVIE?????
Tom Hardy... not leo.. not leo at all! please don't make us disappointed!

Gabriel Didnt they make a movie about this book already?

Linda Not sure about either of the actors cast in the lead roles as I've not really seen their work, but as they are both in their mid/late 30's I wouldn't say they were too young. Good to see everyone's favourite baddie Gary Oldman has been cast.

Idfaciamus @ Gabriel. Perhaps you're thinking of Martin Cruze Smith who wrote Gorky Park. To write a good detective novel set in Russia, it seems you have to be named Smith and to use your middle name (cf. Tom Robb Smith).

Abdulaziz To be honest, I'm glad to know that Noomi Rapace will be in this movie, but i don't know about Tom Tom Hardy. Now don't get me wrong, I like his acting but I just don't think this role fits him.

No, but there was a 1995 HBO film about the serial murders on which the murders in the book are based upon called 'Citizen X', starring Stephen Rea, Donald Sutherland, and Max Von Sydow.

David Lucero Read the book and enjoyed it, but didn't like the author's choice to have dialogue written in italic letters. Thought that was a bit much. He did a good job describing how life was for the average Russian during this time. In 2015 the book was made in a movie. By this time Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace are famous and I thought they did a good job following the book.
