Chasidy | 157 comments I was wondering whos symbol is on the cover of Bad Moon Rising? Is it Jadens? I was looking through the new sanctuary site and if you go to 'The Story Thus Far' and then click on 'Browse The Series' there's the Dark-Hunter banner that has "Dark-Hunter: It's not just a series, it's a world" Anyway, there's the four symbols on it. One's Acheron, that we all know but I was just wondering who the other three belonged to. Do the others belong to the leaders of the arcs(Jaden, Savitar, and the other person not yet mentioned)?

Mojca | 84 comments I think you're right, Chasidy. Since SK promised four major parts of this series with Ash, Jaden, as-of-yet anonymous character and Savitar, the symbols on the banner could represent each of these major players...Although why would Jaden's symbol be on Fang and Aimee's story eludes me.

Once again, we'll just have to wait and see.

Chasidy | 157 comments You're right, why would Jaden's symbol be on Fang and Aimee's story? It's so frustrating. By the way, do you know what the symbol is? I've tried figuring out what it could be but I can't tell.

Mojca | 84 comments One of the four (the third on the banner on the new site) seems to be a Phoenix - maybe that's Savitar's, since it's the only symbol resembling an animal with Savitar leading the Omegrion.

But I have no idea what the symbol in question might be...A funky looking blade with a light on top of it so you know where to stick it when it's dark? No clue.

I like the UK cover a bit more, though. It's not as "ambiguous". Judge for yourself...
US Bad Moon Rising (Dark-Hunter, #26) by Sherrilyn Kenyon and UK Bad Moon Rising (Dark-Hunter World) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I never liked UK covers before, this one's a first.

The Flooze (the_flooze) Alathea...hey, Happy Easter (if you're GO-if not, happy Sunday!).

Um, "A funky looking blade with a light on top of it so you know where to stick it when it's dark?"

Wow, the dirty mind just ran away with me on that one.

Ahem. I can't see the other symbols from my mob, but the one here looks like a stylized bird's head to me. It reminds me, if you've ever seen the movie, of the masks they wear at the ball in the movie Labyrinth.

Also, the two sides, toward the top, look like people facing opposite directions and reaching outward. With the whole duality thing, it reminds me of the Werehunters. Two races from a single source, destined to always pull apart from one another. But that's interpreting it with the book's content in mind. It IS supposed to expand on the dangers the Weres are facing as introduced in Fury's story.

To interpret it as Jaden? Nope. Can't do it!

It's weird to see it...I thought the symbols were going to just be used for the last book of each arc.

Isn't there faded lettering on the cover, too?

Chasidy | 157 comments I do love your interpretations, Michelle. It actually makes a lot of sense when you put it that way. I also thought that the symbols were going to be used for the last book of each are. Kenyon's sure full of surprises ain't she?

Alathea! Your funky looking blade sounds... very nice, haha! I can only imagine the DH men sleeping with their women on one side with this blade next to them on their bed side table ready for whatever is to come that they might need a blade with a lightbulb. :D

I took a better look at the symbol and the more I stared it, the more I began to think it looked like a wolfs head. The triangles being the eyes, the two pointy things above that the ears. Oh who knows. It could possibly be a mixed tribal like image of what Fang and Aimee's children will look like. By any chance, is it possible for them to have children? I can already picture their children hitting maturity and some of them being bears, some of them being wolves, and then some that are bolves, haha! Imagine a story with the possibilty of that!

message 7: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) Wolf's head...could be. It's the same features I was picking up on to make it bird-like, so a different animal would do and a wolf would make more sense because of Fang and because of the mythology the Katagarian/Arcadians are based on.

Yes, that Kenyon is full of surprises. Maybe I shall Twit her and ask!

Chasidy | 157 comments Please do! Haha, I've tweeted on her page before but it's not like I ask anything. Im afraid of the answers I might get. It'll probably turn my mind into mush thinking of possibilities.

message 9: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) Tweet sent! Lord knows if she'll reply, but at least I feel I've put in effort!

Chasidy | 157 comments I hope she replys! *crossing fingers*

Chasidy | 157 comments She replied!! It's his mating mark!!!! :)

message 12: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) Lol. Hilarious that you saw that before I did.

So, it's Fang's mating mark. I guess we can look forward to him definitely getting some then since he hasn't had the mark up to now!

Werehunter-related...at least we were on the right track!

Chasidy | 157 comments I was on twitter and just so happen to go on SK's page. Since we now know it's were-hunter related... the possibilities are endless.

Perhaps there are pups and cubs in the future. :)

Fang's mating mark?!?! OMG!!! thats so cool! mental note: *read the book Ilse... before you read on* images of possible "bolves" are just running amok in my mind!

Wow, the dirty mind just..."

The Flooze (the_flooze) Chasidy, I just realised you asked above if the two could have kids.
Wren is an example of cross-species reproduction, but both his parents were cats, so maybe that's why he could turn into both.

Chasidy | 157 comments I totally forgot about Wren. He was a... white tiger and a lion? I guess we'll just have to see. *sigh* I hate having to wait.

Tiffany Trevino | 19 comments Chasidy wrote: "I totally forgot about Wren. He was a... white tiger and a lion? I guess we'll just have to see. *sigh* I hate having to wait."

He was a White tiger and a snow leopard, I believe. And he was HOT! The quiet mysterious ones always get me. My heart will be broken if Aimee doesn't get her Fang.

message 18: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) And Vane's kid! We don't yet know if he's strictly human or if he's Arcadian wolf, right?

Chasidy | 157 comments Oh that's right, Tiffany. Wren's story was pretty... fascinating. And we even got to read about how Bill (Selena's husband) was involved in the whole plot thing.

Michelle, what's his sons name? I think it was like Tristan, Tryce or something around the lines of that. I'm excited to learn more about them.

message 20: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) Just looked it up. Trace. Strange name!

Chasidy | 157 comments Oh, right. I'm hoping Trace is Arcadian. Perhpas Vane and Bride will have more pups/babies in the future. I hope they do. I'd love to read more about them and see how their life is currently.

message 22: by Jess (new) - rated it 3 stars

Jess I think I remember Acheron telling Bride that she wouldn't have pups, she'd have babies and that made her feels tons better.

And we know Acheron is never wrong!

message 23: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) Jess, I remember that. But I wonder if the kids will be able to shift...

message 24: by Jess (new) - rated it 3 stars

Jess hmm I think that they will be able to. I think he meant that they were going to be like Vane. Vane's Arcadian right? Where he's born human and then learns to shift. Whereas the other shifters are born as animals?

Trace is definitely an interesting name.. but then so is Vane, Fang lol etc..

message 25: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) I don't think how they're born is necessarily an indicator, since then the parents would have known right off the bat that Fury was Katagarian and Vane Arcadian. It'll be interesting to see if half human, half Werehunter kids take after their Werehunter parent!

Haha, Lauren, I know what my life was like before I started reading about the Dark-Hunters... It was filled with Black Dagger Brotherhood warriors. ;)

I really do hate excerpts. They end just when things start getting good. Lol.

Lauren | 126 comments hahahaha
yeah I read all the BDB books too .... waiting for the next one on that too. my calender is all marked up with the next books i need. my husband just laughs at me.

Chasidy | 157 comments My calendar is the same way, Lauren! I still have yet to pick up Lover Avenged though. :( Who's story is after LA? Is it JM and Xhex? I'm dying to read about them!

message 31: by Adrienne (last edited May 22, 2009 11:45PM) (new)

Adrienne i'm fast losing the plot::i thought Bad Moon Rising was published in Sept 09::why i thought this i haven't a clue::anyway i've just looked at the book page for it and the publising date is in 2010?::

Chasidy::LA is a really good book::after LA it's Lover Mine which is John and Xhexs book::but you'll need to read LA b/c the story line for J and X is set up in there::

Lauren | 126 comments Yes definately read LA .... I think it's her best one with V and Z's book in a close second!

message 33: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne Re Library::i asked at the library::and::yes::they still offer the national library reservations service::costs £2.50 per book but may be well worth the cost::unfort. i can't do this myself:: as far as the DH books are concerned i think i like the series enough to buy the books i haven't read lol::

re the BDB::has/is anyone else reading her jessica bird books::i've read 4 of them::love::love:::loved them::if yoo're reading them too let me know::

message 34: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) £2.50!! Geez...

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) Bad Moon Rising comes out in August in hardback. Perhaps you were looking at the paperback version which, indeed, doesn't come out until next year.

I've got a friend that reads straight romance in addition to PNR and I'm trying to convince her to buy the Jessica Bird titles for me. Of course, I did just get a library card, I should see if my local branch has any.

message 36: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne local branch should have the Mills and Boon::mine does::had to order the other two from amazon::amazon doesn't have new copies of *Beauty and the black Sheep* or *The Billionaire Next Door* (both are mills and Boons) ::i've never really been one for contemporary romance but these are different::probably b/c they are the wardens books::

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 534 comments I got the Jessica Bird romances at my library (I wasn't sure what they would be like . . ) and I have to say they're great! Those kinds of books generally don't appeal to me, but these do so I am slowly but surely working my way thru them. They're worth a look!

Chasidy | 157 comments I dont know if I could do the switch from J.R Ward to Jessica Bird. Im spoiled rotten with her writing as Ward. It's the same with Sherrilyn Kenyon/Kinley MacGregor.

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 534 comments I know what you mean, Chasidy. In my case, I didn't have too much difficulty because Jessica Bird's writing was well-done but not AT ALL like a BDB story. I did have a tough time with SK v. KM; kinda too similar but still not a DH novel . . . .

Chasidy | 157 comments I think I many j ust have to pick up a Bird novel to see how good her writing really is. Any specific book?

Adrienne Chasidy wrote: "I think I many j ust have to pick up a Bird novel to see how good her writing really is. Any specific book?"

Chasidy::the men in her contemporary romances are imho human versions of the brothers::they all have a weakness and are all *hot* men::i read them out of order because i couldn't wait for them all to get here::but::in the same way that each BDB book introduces the next H/H so do these::so if you want them to flow then i would sugest you start with:: An unforgettable Lady::An irresistable batchelor::beauty and the black sheep::his comfort and joy::from the first kiss::a man in a milloion (which is my favourite should i have to choose one b/c the heroe is just so god damn gorgeous:)::and the billionaire next door (which i'm trying to get on amazon but they're temp sold out)::there are 2 other books Leeping hearts and (can't remember title)but i can only get these in the Uk if i'm prepared to pay £44.00 each for them and i have seen a copy on sale second hand for £111.00::yikes!!! as you can probably guess i love them...i wish she'd write more as there are characters that appear in these books that are crying out for their story to be told::i've even thought that as the stories are set in the Adirondacks that maybe just maybe she'll mention some of the characters in *Covert*::butch oneil gets a mention in The Billionaire next Door::so maybe she will::i'd love for someone else to read these so we can get a discussion going ::come on gals and guys i can't be only one whose fallen in love with Nate::jack ::Alex and Spike::

Mojca | 84 comments I have JB's stories in my TBR pile and can't wait to start, thanks to your post, Adrienne.

A small advice regarding those hard to find titles, Leaping Hearts and Heart of Gold. Try Biblio or Alibris, though Biblio offers a little lover shipping rates for Europe.

Chasidy | 157 comments More books to add on my TBR. LOL!

message 44: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne hope you're not disappointed with them and enjoy them as much as i did:)::

Chasidy | 157 comments Has anyone else read the second excerpt that they sent out? I want to know what he did!

message 47: by The Flooze (new) - added it

The Flooze (the_flooze) I know! He's so resentful and seems to have been mentally or spiritually off in some other damned plane. What is up with that?! Now I am COMPLETELY intrigued!

message 48: by Chasidy (last edited Jul 10, 2009 03:03PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Chasidy | 157 comments Tell me about it! He's upset at the fact Vane didn't come to him when he was calling out? This is driving me insane I tell ya! Which brings me to the fact that Aimee was taking care of him, right? Somehow he must have gotten through to her especially if they're supposedly meant to be together. *sigh* Time goes by too slowly when it comes to book releases.

Lauren | 126 comments 11 more days till Bad moon rising

Chasidy-
There's a little more to the Vane drama and family in the short story "Shadow of the Moon" in Dead after Dark book. Dead After Dark by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Main subject is Vane's brother Fury.
It's a good short, but I wish there was a whole book devoted to Fury and family.
