I spoke with the director of the new "Out of Print" documentary today by Skype to New York. It's a well- done collage of voices and ideas related to the eBook Revolution. She interviewed Jeff Bezos for 45 minutes and found him captivating. I wish she had given less screen time in the film to The Authors Guild's cranky and bitter Scott Turow, but ah well. Harvard's Robert Darnton is, as usual, an earnest and believable voice of reason and optimism. It's well worth keeping an eye out for at a film festival near you.

Vivienne Roumani afterward told me she'd done the interview after only two hours of sleep. I thought she did a great job anyway. Please keep an eye open for "Out of Print" at a film festival near you. It's a great documentary that will make you think no matter what you think you know already about the eBook Revolution.

Eolake, it will probably be a while. Her first goal will be to get it seen in as many film festivals as possible this year.

I can understand the prestige this gives, but most of don't have time to go to festivals. Heck, I don't even use the cinema anymore, I've gotten too used to breaking up tasks in half-hour intervals. (Not to mention that cinemas for some reason play the sound *so* frigging loud these days.)
