So, we need two books- our first book, and and alternate pick. Who has suggestions?

I'm in the middle of This Side of Paradise -.- but would be happy to switch to something else.. Not much help..

I was thinking the Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood, or Adam Steed suggested Thank You For Smoking the novel, not sure who the author is.
