Historical Fiction discussion

Hi everyone -- I need your help!! Timebound (formerly Time's Twisted Arrow) is the YA finalist for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. Voting ends May 29th and the winner (either YA, Mystery, Science Fiction, General, & Romance) will get a publishing contract with a $50K advance.

As you can see, they totally dissed historical fiction. Timebound is time travel, so it lies at the nexus between science fiction and historical fiction -- and the history is solid since I teach college history on the side :) You can read the reviews here at Goodreads or Amazon. Publisher's Weekly says the main character, Kate, is a strong heroine, calling her "the Katniss Everdeen of timetravel."
