BR Kingsolver (brkingsolver) | 5 comments Yes, marketing is hard work. Do you know where you plan to publish? Depending on the platform, they may have some promotional opportunities. World Literary Cafe has promotional programs, as do some of the Indie blog sites. Blog tours (be careful and look for recommendations and warnings - some are good, some are poor, some are ripoffs). Do NOT pay for reviews.

Keep a record of blogs and other sites you solicit for reviews. Read the review policies, craft a polite request, and hope that enough reviewers are interested.

Good luck.

Jonathan Hopkins | 6 comments Any forums that relate to your subject? I found posting replies and questions (though NOT advertising your book)drew in a few readers. Just make sure you use your web or blog address as part of your signature.
Seems to me it's a constant drip-feed that's likely to get best results over time. I hope ;)

B.R. Crichton (brcrichton) | 1 comments I'm in an almost identical position to yourself. First book out this month, and have got involved in a local book festival. There are loads of festivals here in the UK and no doubt its the same where you are. The immediate publicity you get is very localised, but can get you plenty of reviews and sales. People tend to be very supportive of their own, so get involved in local community events.

Linda Keenan | 1 comments I agree with BR, local support works great and takes wings from there. The summer festivals also have expanding networks.
