Okay, this has absolutely nothing to do with writing, but I really need ideas.

What are some ways to earn money under 16, other than babysitting?

ummmmm..... yyyyyou could make toothpick sculpures, held together by old gum, and sell them.... yeah. sorry, i'm bad as serious suggestions. >.<

Marley (Marleyme95) | 134 comments Oh, well, IDK, Wal-Mart, McDonalds, another reastaurant, ask around, ask your friends parents.

ahhhh...

pet-sitting...

house-sitting...

mostly tho, you don't want to work in a restaurant or office, if that's even an option, because you'll only be able to work like four hours a week and you'll have to pay taxes. babysitting is the best way to go, unless you like animals, in which case pet-sitting is best...

but Rita's seems like a nice place to work.

Marley (Marleyme95) | 134 comments You don't have to pay if your under 18, so no fear. I think so, my brother had a job and didn't pay, neither does my friend Derek.

Squiggles{Kelly} (squiggles) | 38 comments no, you do. your employer deducts it. it's complicated, but i worked in an office doing menial (gack) tasks when i was fifteen. it's deducted, plus social security. it really takes a chunk out.

Amy (kelairyy) | 137 comments How do you work at a library? o.O That's a stupid question... but I think at my local one, you can only volunteer, not work there.

message 20: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
yeah, usually ppl only volunteer, but they decided to hire a few teenagers to work there, so lucky me! :D

message 21: by Amy (new)

Amy (kelairyy) | 137 comments That's cool. I need a job. But no one wants to hire teenagers anymore because of the bad economy. :(

Amy (kelairyy) | 137 comments By the way, has anyone been to a job interview before? I'm just curious what they ask you and all. :)

message 24: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
yeah i had one ... i barely had to say anything, really. lol! depends on the job i guess but usually they would ask you stuff like how old you are, what school you go to, what you like to do, why you want the job, blah blah blah ... you get the idea. :)

message 25: by Amy (new)

Amy (kelairyy) | 137 comments Oh okay thanks. :)

I have an interview tomorrow, only it's for this school thing. XD

Squiggles{Kelly} (squiggles) | 38 comments lol, good luck!
three things i wish i'd known three years ago:
1. Smile confidently
2. Pause and think rather then babble
3. Assume they love you

these help enormously with auditions and interviews!!

:D
