What other genre of books do you read? Is there any genre you stay away from?

I tend to lean toward contemporary, memoirs, non-fiction (animal and biography (depends on who).

I enjoy Christian fiction, Mysteries/ Suspense, Biographies/Memoirs, some Nonfiction.

I won't read Horror, Sci-Fi, YA. I know there are some others that I won't read as well, not exactly sure what they're called.

I do read Christian/Inspirational like Angela Hunt who I love as an author.

I don't like horror, and Sci-Fi. I do like some young adult books.

There are some books I don't like to read but love on audio. Stephen Kings books are like that. I love listening on audio. It seems mystery's I'd rather listen to than read. I don't know why, it's just a quirk I guess.

Tui Allen (tuibird) | 393 comments I love reading Visionary and Metaphysical fiction and it can often include animals, the classic example of that being Jonathan Livingstone seagull. Richard Bach is my hero as a writer. I love his stuff. He's definitely in the Visionary and metaphysical genre.

I like autobiographies/biographies... generally of rock stars (I do so love reading about Bad Boys!).
I used to like fantasy but The Lord of the Rings kinda spoilt that genre for me... I mean when you've read the best what's left?
I like Sci Fi but the early stuff, John Wyndham is my favourite, I read Day of the Triffids at least once a year.
I do like poetry... Banjo Patterson takes me into the outback! But my favourite as got be Robert Service... his evocative poem, The Call of the Wild has the hair on the back of my neck standing up.
Most of my reading is done in bed so I like light material to ease me off to sleep.

Jennifer Priester (jenniferpriester) | 207 comments I'm really more subject based than anything, but the genres I usually read though are fantasy, Sci-fi/fantasy, Sci-fi, children's fiction, YA, comic books, graphic novels, and manga.
I like nonfiction as long as it is about animals, mysteries that are about or feature animals, or are children's books, and only children's level paranormal or horror stories such as Goosbumps.
So far I also like thrillers as long as they also fit into one of my normally read genres.
The only genres I don't like, and have never found a book I liked in have been romance and westerns.

Anny I like science, history and psychology fiction or non-fiction. Manga and light novel are my addiction. I like to read on subjects that I'm not familiar with (like reading on various places and cultures and professions)

I stay away from horrors (ghost and supernatural) but I don't mind good psychological thriller (eg. Hannibal). Not good with romance, it bores me (except historical romance maybe).
