Dennis | 35 comments I've always been a fan of Fredric Brown's sf and fantasy stories but never read any of his crime novels until recently. I downloaded a copy of The Fabulous Clipjoint and really enjoyed this coming of age story about an 18 year old trying to find the murderer of his dad with the help of his uncle Ambrose. This novel won a Edgar award in 1948. It looks like the rest of the Ed and Am novels are not in print so I downloaded Night of the Jabberwock and The Screaming Mimi instead. Any fans of Mr. Brown here?

Dominick (dominickgrace) | 45 comments I tend to prefer his SF, but yes, I like Brown a lot. I have several of his mysteries as well as a bunch of his SF. his books can still be found relatively easily in second-hand stores, though moreso with his SF than his mystery stuff. There was a nice collection of his complete SF short stories a few years ago now, so it's probably out of print, but it's worth tracking down.

Dennis | 35 comments I just read an article where Mickey Spillane said that Fredric Brown was his "favorite author of all time". Hugh , I see that the books you mentioned are not in ebook form but hopefully someone will reprint everything he wrote very soon.

David Baldwin | 11 comments Haffner Press plans to issue volumes to cover all(!) of Fredric Brown's non-sci-fi writings (mainly crime) in chronological order (including all the novels.) The first two volumes in the series are available for pre-order, at a rather princely $40 each. Still, the series should be of interest to fans of Brown, or at least the well-heeled ones.
