Anyone play music?

I play guitar.

Nope. I failed my band test when I was in fourth grade. The notes for music are like another language to me. My dad is always asking if I would like to try ANY instrument, but I say no. Im not an artistic person....

That is sad but some people are talented in other areas. I have been playing for four months and I have started playing with the guys at my church.

I don't play an instrument, but my brother and my cousins play instruments. My brother is 29 and has been playing guitar since he was ten.

It is but I have no idea what I am doing so I just do my best to play along but I have an acoustic guitar and they haven't mic'ed me yet so nobody can here me so as long as I look like I know what I am doing nobody knows.

Im sure you'll get better ;)

I finally found out when rehearsals are so I can get my questions answered and get realtime practice without an audience.

Well, actually, I haven't picked it up in a couple months, but I do play. :)

I play harp.
Quite well.
And I compose for it.

I still think that is so cool...

Oh, that's cool. Yeah, there is a man at my church who plays, and he was telling me about people who play music but can't read sheet music. Like me :).

Yeah, that's true. I play by ear, and I rely on that and memorization to help me. Also, since I know how to play chords, that helps.

I usually play by ear, but I would need to know what it sounds like first, which is when reading is useful.

I can basically play rhythm for Boulevard Of Broken Dreams by Green Day.
