I know - y'all see me spout off about my hellspawn often, but are you wondering if they are real? I can tell you, some days it feels like I have a million kids and I belong in a shoe.
I do, in fact, have four children. My eldest will be nine next month and my youngest just turned three. My two middle (Geezus, are they ever the middle children!) are five and seven. So, that's 3, 5, 7, and 9.
They outnumber my husband and I, and some days we want to huddle together on the floor wrapped in each others arms for safety, mumbling like Goldie Hawn in Overboard. Bub, Bub, Bub, Bub, Bub...
I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world though. They enrich my life, give me purpose, and make me so sleep deprived I was able to write some pretty cool prose.
My youngest daughter (7) is in love with unicorns, the color pink, and primping.
We call my eldest daughter (9) the animal whisperer (She has a lovely gift with animals)
We call my youngest son (3) the two headed monster because one moment he will be rubbing your head with the sweetest smile telling you he loves you, and then the next second he is gauging out your eyes and rolling on the floor like a spawn of Satan.
My older son (5) is incredibly abstract in his thought patterns and recently began asking us these awesome questions like ... "What happens when numbers end?" As well as, "What's it like to be a mushroom?"
